Hey, as with any city there are part time jobs going, you just need to keep an eye out ☺️ Pubs, shop work & the SU were all popular student choices when I was at uni in Winch. Factor in how many hours you could realistically work whilst balancing your studies & social life at uni & don’t forget student finance if you’re entitled as it’s a big help!

Hey, glad you liked the vid :) I think they say that to try to prevent things getting too wild but in my experience it was never enforced. Obviously as a student you'll have people over for drinks, play music, etc. As long as you're not making a ridiculous amount of noise you should be fine!

Halls are set price but student housing can vary a little although it's still expensive by uni standards. To give you benchmark figures to work off, I was paying around £500 a month for accommodation bills included but the lowest I know people paid was £420 (although there could be lower still- this was just my experience). Typically the further you are from uni the cheaper it will be so you could check out 'Winnall' direction or if you wanted, you could commute from Southampton or somewhere which would be cheaper again. Check out Goadsby and Lithend Estates as they are two of the biggest student estate agents I can remember off the top of my head. Also, if you contact the uni they sometimes have flats/houses for students that are rented out by private landlords. I hope this helps gal. Yes it's expensive but it really is a wonderful place and if you are still struggling in August, contact the uni and they should be able to offer more advice and help :)

I am in the same situation, an EU student moving to Winchester in August with my boyfriend. I am also worried but hope it will all work out.

@@ladyjusta26 Worry not, you'll find something. It's a lot easier to find something for two people from what I've seen online. If it was just my boyfriend and I, it would've been so much easier. But we can't really leave our friend on his own, so we'll have to find something that works. Just keep looking and check out nearby towns as well. I found some pretty good offers. ✨

No not at all! Most people make their best uni pals through their course and societies anyway as when you think about it they are more likely to be the people you have shared interests and things in common with. Put yourself out there and I'm sure you'll have a great time :)

maybe do residence 1st year and then commute for the last 2?

Student loan covered it! Lots of people got jobs or help from parents in terms of extra spending money though X
