This is our second time here. My wife and I had another amazing experience here at Unico. During Covid, the resort is operating at 60% but that won't stop you from enjoying all that Unico has to offer. The staff does a great job of keeping the guests safe and the resort clean.
Unico 20°N 87°W is just one resort in a long list of luxury hotels part of The Leading Hotels of The World-a collection of hotels around the world will inspire you to travel more and worry less.

My wife and I were there last Thursday with my big brother and his girlfriend. The service was outstanding. our room was 5509 this view was really good we could see everything.

This is the most informative and helpful video I’ve seen on this resort! Thank you for the effort to capture your stay there. Did you guys see any type of swim up bar by chance?

Thank you so much! Yes, there are two swim-up bars at UNICO. One is in the main pool and the other at the secondary quiet pool. Both open at 11:00 AM and close around 7:00 PM but the lobby bar is open much later. You’ll see one at the 17:40 mark and the other briefly at the 21:57 mark. We got up quite early each day to unobstructed footage but believe me, these pool bars get poppin around 12:00 PM.

@@madi981 With the pools getting packed so quickly it was nice having the option for something a bit more private. The private bath is nice when the weather is colder but when it’s 98F and the humidity is 40%, the private bath is not ideal.

I’m planning to book our stay at an AI hotel and I’ve whittled down our choices between Unico and Hyatt Zilara Cancun. I can’t decide which one to book 😩 We’re travelling with our mom so we want to stay at a laid back hotel where she can unwind and relax but my sisters and I are in our mid twenties and we don’t want to feel bored during our stay either. Would you recommend Unico for our stay?

Thank you! There is no cigar lounge per say however, they do have a place to purchase cigars and you may smoke outdoors. The night club (closed during COVID) did have an outdoor patio for a cigar lounge but that is closed for the time being.

It took an 1.5 hr to get there from the airport with a private transfer? I’m going in June with my wife and our travel agent told us it should take about 30-45 min. Why did it take 1.5 hr?

It may be off season and therefore less traffic. Both times we’ve traveled to Unico, it’s been well over the hour mark to and back from the resort. However, there is a smaller regional airport closer to Riviera Maya that does take less than an 1.5 hours. But if you’re flying into the Cancun International Airport it’s 85.8 KM (53.31mi) from Unico which averages out to over an hour.

We paid about $120 if I’m remembering correctly. They do have different options at different price points but we choose 100% private, and it was round trip.
