Thanks for the correction. I've been using golden egg on my thief without even bothering to check if this worked. Now it will go to my sweeper squad instead.
I suspected this didn't work, honestly was waiting for this video. I did keep mine on travis but i also kept travis with alain who was one of my main slaughter squads
I'm honestly 20 hours into this game and I had no idea my Golden Egg on Travis wasn't getting him extra gold from Plunder... I really wish the description would be changed from "User's Unit Earns +100% Gold" to "User's Unit Earns +100% Gold From Battle" or something to that effect.
I agree with your findings, and I have been using Plunder and Plunder 2 a LOT. The things that (as far as I can tell) increase gold earned is the rogues level, targets level and "possibly maybe" Plunder 2 stealing more than Plunder 1 (Or its the promoted rogue, either or). Golden Eggs deffinitely do not increase the amount, as I would have seen a huge jump in gold earned as I got my 2nd and 3rd golden egg. Instead I saw inrcemental but steady increases as the level of the mission increased, and I stopped getting less than 1000 gold per plunder with Plunder 2 and a promoted rogue. There is not a single map I have not used Plunder in atleast once, with multiple maps seeing 5-6 plunders per map, for Cornia the ammount was somewhere between 250-1000 gold, 12+ regions of cornia started seeing 500-1500 and Drakenhold has been fairly concistently 900-1800, and Ive never seen less than 1100 gold since promoting and getting Plunder 2. What Im not certain about is if multiple rogues in the same squad increase the ammount of plunder you get, but as an individual skill and not a squad ability I doubt it.
Having a clip to show the result is the best as it will actual show the outcome. It's good to have good build and the money earning build is something very good and definitely useful for me.
I'm going to blame Gammel for this one, when I recruited him he had an item that increased gold gain but reduced his PP. I figured I'd give him the golden egg too and have him run around looting people left and right for extra money.
I hope this video wasn't referencing the comment that I made in the "Super Tax Brothers" video. Aside from everything else that was mentioned, I understand what it means to farm gold early on in order to min-max, experiment, or being able to have access to everything that the game has to offer. However, hiring a mercenary for me in this game is a last resort right now because I want to use all the unique characters first before buying mercenaries to fill in any of the remaining slots. That and... because it's more fun that way for me~ Vive la libération!
I am not sure if this might help your tax brothers but you could give the Legionaire an Sanguine Spear to increase its HP but also be able to recover HP by 50% of the users attack, also maybe an idea to add an Witch/Sorcesses to the group for magic coverage and able to teleport to an closer ally or facility since they don't move very fast.
I never questioned your logic at all about the tax squad. I’m actually doing the variation where it’s Hodrick and the first three mercenaries you can recruit in the main story. In fact, in the file I’m working with right now, I had enough honors to promote all four of them, Alain, and two others to their promoted classes just to be on the same page as you. Now I just need the right gear to make it work. I’ve got the poison amulet, glasses, and eggs all sorted right now. I just need the other swords, shields, and other accessories to finish things off.
I think the only things that affect plunder are enemy level and the number of enemies. I plundered a group i half fought and got under 200, which seems low, even in the early chapters.
This is definitely good to know, I didn’t comment on the last video but did think it worked this way and used to do this when I needed monies. That said, for a bit of backseat gaming I do think a housecarl would really help your comp with their defense debuffs, and rolling axe is fairly effective against evade tanks which is currently a weakness in the comp. Just a thought, totally get it you just like it as it is.
I’d be willing to, although since I’m not a Patreon member and can’t spare the money I’d be coming right at the bottom of the list… Not that I can’t, mind, especially if nobody even in the RU-vid member list has; the game already disallows me the options I would have taken (such as a female Knight or Hoplite, or a male Cleric). I might just go for a Housecarl/Viking for what it’s worth… Is there a link to where I’d make such a request, actually? Because yeah, I might do it anyway (even if I don’t know all the classes available, as yet). Speaking of which Tom, if on the strange off chance you had more requests than a single save allowed (being 64), would they then carry over into your second playthrough - that is I believe, your “True Zenoiran” one?
I love this game but i don't have the mind for building units, i simply lack the ability to think ahead especially when presented with so many classes each with so many weaknesses, uses and strengths, I played the demo but I'm just waiting for someone to make a guide video on squad builds... Ps: No im not wishing for squad suggestions or advice. I wish for concrete builds, such as the IRS build you made! Very simple and strong build! Though hopefully its not a build that falls off the further you get into the game...
I agree with this video! I checked this myself! I saved before using plunder and found that plunder is randomized amount. It won’t be the same every time and if the golden egg and other items that multiply gold earned affected it, i should have been getting way more than just ~300-1400 gold.
Exactly, so I don't know how he's "proving" they don't stack. The only way to be sure is to do it 10 - 20 times on the same enemy and keep track of the highest amount of gold stolen with and without.
@@Neonmirrorblack don’t get my statement wrong. I’m agreeing with what he’s saying in this video. I think he’s proving that the golden egg doesn’t actually work for plunder because he’s stacking multiple items that’s supposed to double your amount of gold and in the area where he’s at in the game the amount you can plunder is at a certain range and if he’s stacking so many of those items, he should be plundering way more if that makes sense?

I play just like how you like to play that's why I was trying to also beat the arena before I finished drakehold farthest I am able to get to is number 3 can't seem to find a way to beat squad number 2 looks like I'll have to comeback later also would love to see you try out dbl mage one with fire and ice confirel combo it's pretty fun!!
@titaniumlegman love the vids you have great info and delivery. Wanted to let you know that it looks like this video copied alot of your points i don't know if it was intentional but i found it odd that many of his points were covered in this vid or your first 10 things to know video
While I've not tested it myself but plan to, I think it won't effect it. The gold the eggs effect, is what pops up when you see the exp gains, but the funds that are retrieved in this situation, show up after battle as a text box same as if you had used Plunder or found it on the ground.
I'm currently using a version of this squad that has 2xLK 1xPH 1xVK and Berengaria, with 5 eggs 1 bracelet 2 bandit axes and 1 bandit sword. In Bastorias, with this squad, I get 1k per reinforcement, 2k per normal squad and 20k+ from bosses. I'm thinking of subbing out either of the axe units for a breaker, so that is can crack armored units easier. (as you know, hammers are axes :D)
For the super tax bros, could dropping one sword guy for a viking be useful for cracking harder physical targets, the def down seems like it might be useful? Plus war horn for breaking guards?
I have unit stacking question : do several cleric in the same squad increase heal assist power ? And does it work with different healing classes in the same unit ?
Stacks absolutely increase power. Only thing I haven't had the chance to test, is if different classes with the same assist type boost each other. I ASSUME they would, but I can't say for certain yet.
@@TitaniumLegman This is something I really wanted to see an answer for as well, and so I did some limited testing and seems a yes but not by much, but as free daamge every point can be nice. I had set up 2 assist units, both lead by a level 25 Sorceress with their magic attack stat adjusted to match at 50. Taking level, class, and magic attack effectively out of the calculations just to see if there was a difference. First team only had their Sorceress that could magick assist and the second was a full team of 4 that could all magick assist but all difference classes. In the same fight that both assisted in, the first did 11 damage and the other did 15 against a unit with 20 magic def. So this was a yes but left me wondering how exactly it worked. For reference the game tells us that these are it's calculations: Damage is "(ATK - DEF) x (Potency/100)" and Assist damage "Base damage + (5 x Assisting members)" So from that I started with, 50 ATK - 20 DEF = 30 x potency of 30 of the assist skills = 9 base damage start for both cases, but that would be to low for the sole assist unit and adding 15 for the 3 assisting members of the other unit would see it reach 24 which was too high. So what if the "Base damage" actually meant base attack? This got me closer, the sole assist unit still came to 9 but now the second unit with 15 added to magick attack was getting to 13.5. Close, 2 points low on both though. Which then got me to the realisation that the assisting member itself also counts. so that meant +5 in the first unit and +20 on the second and that then got me to 10.5 and 15 damage, if rounded up, matched the 11 and 15 i got in game. So end result seems to be Assist calculation (ATK of leader+(5*all members with the assist type)-DEF)x(Potency/100) done separately for each member of the target unit. Of cause using either the Mag or Phys stats of the units as appropriate. That ended up being much longer then I planed on it being.
Also as an addition while testing all that a few times, something I think should be noted is that assisting units also get exp from a fight, it seems to be around 37% no matter how many assist the fight, but i've not tested to be sure just took 2 instances and they were around there. Instance 1, fighting unit got 662exp, 2 assisting units got 248exp which is about 37%. Instance 2, fighting unit got 44, but they were too high level and so had the exp penality so that was just 10% of what the fight would of been worth, and the 1 assisting unit got 167, which would be about 38% of 440. But means it can help with getting more exp from a fight like a big boss worth a lot.

I just wanted to confirm that, in my testing, mixing and matching multiple differing units with the same assist type does work towards stacking up the "+5 to base power per member" bit. Also, I should highlight the fact that the damage calculation is done with the Party leader's relevant statistic. For example, if you had a team with a Shieldshooter, Hunter, and Elven Archer, it's best to make the party leader either the Shieldshooter or Ranger depending on who has the higher Phys. Atk stat, as the Elven Archer typically uses a split scaling or magick bow, resulting in it's potential assists being far weaker due to a smaller Phys. Atk stat. Additionally, since assists can potentially crit, building your assist party leader towards critting can be a great way to boost your assist damage as well.
I heard True Zenoiran is more suited to SRPG veterans than Expert. Is there a guide to breeze through the first playthrough to unlock it ? Sucks it's not available from the start.
Eh plunder 2 on that aux which like 5 units makes 3-5 k. So the golden egg is kinda irrelevant. Like on that aux you used. The group that rushes that you are meant to use the catapult Then kill them with a golden egg party for that much more. But ya I kinda figured golden egg didn’t work that way it would be broken.
People are so bad at reading. I'll never understand how someone can just confidently blurt out misinformation when it's really easy to verify. Also money is not an issue in this game, I hit over 500k half way through Drakenhold and I won't be able to spend all of that. Sure in the beginning money is tight but as soon as you get into Drakenhold that issue goes away and as long as you aren't being silly with money and buying gear for every character you should be fine. A lot of quests give you good gear so you don't need to buy every good sounding item you see...
Tbh you can buy every good sounding item and its still fine. You can literally go infinite just mining, its like 200 gold to mine and you get like 1200 gold worth of items each time
