Unified 3: MLB Logos & Uniforms 2021 

As a lifelong Bears fan I was extremely disappointed that they didn't wear a memorial patch for Gale Sayers. When Walter Payton died they had a football patch with a "34" in it. They should have done that for Gale too. I know you guys were talking about baseball today but I needed to say it.

What a great collaboration between Chris and Paul! I'm loving the podcast so far. My one-per-division MLB thoughts: AL West: I would love for the Angels to to back to the blue/red color scheme they had from their inception in 1961 until the mid-90s when they went through the Disney-owned winged-Angel periwinkle era. I have never been a fan of the red color scheme they've had since 2002 (and their alternate red jersey). Keep their current branding, but have a blue cap with red bill and make the Halo on the caps and jerseys yellow or gold and not that horrid rust color they've had for almost 20 years. AL Central: Have the Royals wear matching powder blue pants with their powder blue alternate. The jersey looks horrible with white or gray pants. AL East: This one is kind of a hot take...I think the Yankees should add last names on their Road jerseys, which is perfect because there are no pinstripes and the lettering and numbering are outlined. A last name on that jersey would pop well. Plus I think it would do wonders for jersey sales for those who want to show who their favorite player is, but have the name be part of an authentic jersey. NL West: The Dodgers should wear the road uniforms they wore from 1977 - 1998, with the team name, rear number and last name outlined in white. They pop out more in comparison to the boring road uniforms they have now. NL Central: Change the branding on the Reds' current alternate jersey. It looks terrible. Better to have the "C" logo on it, but the font on "Reds" is dreadful. NL East: While I love that they are embracing the city name over the state name they started with, there is too much emphasis on "Miami" for the Marlins. Their home jersey should just say "Marlins" and "Miami" should be used on the road and maybe for one alternate.

Would love to see the gold pirates cap they wore a few years ago to honor clemente come back full time at home

This suggestion would only benefit those who take in the podcast in video format, but here is something I would like to see: Talk a little bit about the shirts you are wearing, and/or the swag you have in the background (I've noticed that Chris's background objects change some from episode to episode, maybe talk about why you picked the pieces that you did). As someone who has accumulated lots of different sports memorabilia over the years, I know that all of it has a story, and usually those stories are pretty interesting.

I would say the Cardinals don't need a Sunday hat and a Saturday home set. Just use the Sunday hat (single bird on a bat) on the Saturday cremes with St Louis on them so you don't have the repeating STL on the hat and St Louis on the jersey. Also, bring back the navy road hats full time.

The Orioles had an anniversary (60th) patch, and a memorial patch (Tom Clancy, partial owner) in their 2014 season. Kind of surprised they (Braves) won't pay homage to Hank Aaron considering Aaron was Mr Brave. He was the only Hall of Famer to have been on both the Milwaukee Braves & Atlanta Braves. He's also one of the top 10 players on MLB history. So, why would not they pay homage to Hank Aaron?

Do you enjoy baseball pants worn to the knees or the ankle? I always thought at the knees always had more of a old-timey baseball feel that I like.

My MLB changes, by division: AL East: New York's road jerseys should remove the white from the letters and the striping from the sleeves, making it look like the Yankees of the 50s. AL Central: Have the Tigers wear a gray road shirt with navy yoke piping (like the home) but the Olde English D with the tiger like they had a few years ago. AL West: Astros: RAINBOW GUTS. The people have spoken, and so have a bunch of minor-league teams! NL East: Have a teal alternate with "Marlins" on the front. Good idea! Miami Heat City Edition? Bad idea! NL Central: Give Pittsburgh a full-time gold alternate jersey from the Stargell era. NL West: Make the SAN FRANCISCO lettering on the front taller like it was back in the 60s. One suggestion: for Jackie Robinson Day, have everyone wear 42 on the back, but every team should have their player number somewhere on the rest of the uniform -- sleeve, front, or (ugh!) pants. I know, it wouldn't work so good for the Yankees or the Red Sox. It's still a thought in my brain ...

Very few of the Spring Training hat designs from 2020 and 2021 work well. Toronto, Texas, and Arizona are the only standouts. They're each so good that they should probably be regular season alternates. The cancelling of names and mascots (e.g. Indians, Chief Wahoo, etc) are way over the top and massive over-reactions. Are the Cowboys or Rangers next? Florida State is still the Seminoles. Should Notre Dame move away from the Fighting Irishmen because of the stereotype of an inebriated, disgruntled Irish lad? Are the Angels offensive to those with no Christian affiliation? There have been are brutal pirates, past and modern, should Pittsburgh or Vegas Raiders reconsider? I'm glad I still have my fitted cap with the oversized Chief Wahoo from back in the day. Everyone is seemingly offended by everything these days, what will be cancelled next?
