I got my unihertz phone based on your review and advise. Everything you said just works the same. Thanks. I was skeptical about buying this earlier. Now I saw all your review comments and got the phone. And woww I'm amazed. Like you said this doesn't have superior camera but by far a decent one. Thank you so much. This phone is going to stay with me forever. Keep it coming.
@@TechOdyssey Just got my phones today and I''m excited. What did you use to move your BB contacts and stuff over to the Titan ? I have not fired up yet. I assume it needs to be charged first ? I'm not that up on that part of it.
Wish this had a full 5-row keyboard with spaced keys like my trusted BB 9720. What a typing experience it would really have been with that keyboard on such a large phone.
Thank you for this detailed great review. I think this sounds very promising for those of us who need to move on to a stronger PKB device as no BlackBerry is currently on the horizon or even behind the horizon.
Another day and another great review 🔥but i don't think it can replace the blackberry keyboard BlackBerry is the king of keyboards just as samsung is of displays😅
I have also been using BlackBerry phones since they introduced their first product a long time ago. When I received my last one, the Priv, I enjoyed it so much I carried every day for the last four years. When it began to fail I started to search for a replacement. After watching your videos and a few others, I began to take a closer look at the Titan. I knew when I ordered it was not a BlackBerry, not even close, but It is quickly becoming a new favorite for me and I have to say, all of your observations were correct. It is not for everyone and should not be seen as a BlackBerry because of the keyboard. The Titan is very much its own device and I believe its a bargain at the price. Its fast, loud for people like me with a hearing loss, and it does everything my Priv did. Once I installed the BB hub, my favorite feature, the Titan is beginning to feel right at home. The Titan is heavy, eye catching and every time I set it down someone will stop and ask about it. If you miss the fixed keyboard traditional BlackBerry and if you're willing to give it a little time, the Titan can be an outstanding phone. NOTE: I installed an over the air update on June 7, 2020. Since the update I have had a few minor issues with apps locking up. I've sent an email to Unihertz and I will let you know how they respond.
The keyboard backlight is dim But even across keyboard. The keys feel great. I recommend installing the BlackBerry keyboard and using the red key for symbols. I also recommended swapping the alt and caps keys
Once again, another GREAT video! Thanks for the recommendation last week on the Key2! I am LOVING it!!! Keep up the GREAT work on keeping us Crackberry die hards on life support!!!
Great review! I have two questions: 1) Does the keyboard lit up when the phone is turned on? e.g. when using the phone at night in dark spaces. 2) Can you use the swipe up gesture on the keyboard to insert the suggested words? Thanks.
Also if you install the Blackberry keyboard the red key can be used as a 'sym' key to access symbols and this works really well... When setting this up you need to hide the virtual keyboard in the settings... I have since gone on to use the Kika keyboard so I could use the red key as a speed key... Nice to have options... Would be great if you could do a video demonstrating these options as they can be tricky to set up...
I have the red key configured as a magic key on my Titan and this gives the same functionality as the speed key on the Key2... This enables you to use keyboard short cuts from within applications...
May it at least get people interested on physical keyboards again. Being a Blackberry and Unihertz Titan user, PKBs just have a certain appeal to them.
I was using the key2 until I got the titan... Bb is still working but I beat it up so I know its only a matter of time when it stops working I'm so sad I had to go this way instead of saying I bought the new BlackBerry 😫
Excellent video! Thanks for doing this one. Can you just speak to one more thing. How do the keys feel when typing in comparison to the Passport? Similar? Harder, mushier? Thanks again for your on point videos!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching. Also, the keys are much different. The passport let's are hard, and have a more rigid keypress that has a shorter key press. The Titan feels more spongy because they are rubberized and not hard plastic, and have a longer keypress and takes more effort to press, but you get used to it.
Good morning, quick question: how did you set up the keyboard? While mine has the virtual, it grabs half the screen, unlike your video. Also, I don't see the word suggestion. Thanks in advance and great video
I'm not sure if you can answer this or not, but, I adored BlackBerry! Last version I had I think was Bold 9900. About 2011 I switched to Android and Samsung. My question, if I wanted to make the Titan my replacement/every day phone, could you recommend doing that? Camera and keyboard differences notwithstanding, any reason(s) I couldn't make the plunge? In your opinion, of course.
I have this device and it’s great one. Only thing is annoying me about it that physical keyboard doesn’t support all language like Arabic and I have to use Virtual keyboard
Unihertz Titan is so good I decided to buy 2 of them at £ 270 each and with added 1032GB storage SD cards I can store everything on them. You can't go wrong and I am just glad Unihertz hace stepped in when Blackberry did not.
I did put my SIM and use it for a week. I made a full review already. This is just a follow-up video specifically focusing on the keyboard for people who are interested in the phone.
Call quality is good. I have several numbers that I have to hit hold x2 to engage the call when those numbers dial me. Other issues are when calling out the Verizon recording comes on and says that I have to call collect or pay by credit card. Hard reboot a few times then it will work.
Is it possible to change the language in the keyboard to your native language? also the display above the keyboard when you write it does not appear to mine. You know where is this in settings?
I wanted to love this phone. The build quality is flawless but I had to return it today. I couldn't get outlook to work it says "an error occurred". Without work email the phone is useless. Other than that I would prefer over BlackBerry any day. BlackBerry keys are too small. People hate on this phone but it's awesome!
I didn’t test whether they work but you can download blackberry apps from the play store. Keyboard and hub are there I believe along with some of the other ones.
I bought one after listening to you..... And yes it looks smart and feels good and heavy.. But apart from that it kind of sucks..... Difficult to turn off.... Volume goes up and down.. Have to constantly restart it...... Typing is awful...... No decent auto correct..... The list goes on....... But for 300 euros, what do you expect.
@@TechOdyssey I found it. It was under "Entering text" on page 23 of the large Titan User Manual. 1. Open *settings, Touch Language & input >Virtual keyboard> >Manage keyboards. 2. Turn on the switch next to the corresponding input method. 3. Choose the desired input method.
I haven't tried it yet. I'm not a fan of the android hub, but I plan on installing it and other BlackBerry apps to see how they work. I'll address this soon.
So... I broke down and bought not only the titan hut also backed for the pocket 😒didnt want to but I'm starting to get nervous guys bb has yet to even gives us a update 😫if someone has any news pls let us know
