Unihertz Titan Pocket Review - Are You Still Cool? 

Some people have moved on but it's still pretty good if you haven't and loved that PKB lifestyle!

Got mine 1 week ago, so far it has been a good experience after using a K1 for close to 4 years. I really like the BB classic like keyboard with the BB Passport features, makes browsing really easy. Moving away of the BB has been easier than expected and the strip down android is quite clean. The call voice quality has been a surprise, better than in the K1, also the size and weight are easier to handle, and the keyboard keys are bigger than I thought. I think the price/feature balance is very good, also this phone helps me to avoid wasting too much time with video/image based information. Thanks for your videos, very informative and helpful for my buying decision.

I am really glad that Unihertz made these phones. There is a lot to like for sure, especially as a communication device.

Had mine for a few months and I'm diggin it! I don't care bout big screens, just need to be able to read texts and see who's callin. Seems to be a tough and ready to tackle daily needs type of phone, for me anyway! 💪

I got one, love the key board, works great! Not a blackberry with its security, but still a good option for me. A little heavier phone.

I stilll want one. It’s just nothing like it to me. I’m just a BlackBerry fan of that keyboard. Unihertz fills that void.

I appreciate the great review of this phone. Unfortunately, no matter how great an online review for any keyboard phone may be, at the end of the day it's impossible to tell if it's a good fit until it's physically in a person's hands so they can tell if it's possible for them to type out a message well on it. Online shopping is a great innovation and so are online reviews. That being said instances such as this frustrate me because this is where brick and mortar stores are so helpful. Cool phones like this one aren't available to "test drive" in person. The ability to touch and feel the product is also ironically the point of it having a physical keyboard

I wanted to get a standard phone (non-smartphone), but the current selection is horrible. I only use my phone as a communication device (voice, SMS, email, Telegram) and for banking, so the Titan Pocket, once it's been unlocked, rooted and de-Googled, will be perfect. Thanks for the vid.

I wish it could at least feel a bit bit premium, the design and the cheap plastic alone make me hesitate. Sofware looks decent tho, but the hardware makes me wonder if its worth it

My hope is someday this phone gets a stylus to avoid smuging up the screen! That'd be so nice! And I hope they focus on longevity and modularity and open source software too. If they focus on that, I guarantee there will be a market and they'll stand the test of time.

I'm still a pkb holdout. I switched from a Galaxy Note 9 to the original Titan back when it was released and I never went back to the Note. I'm spoiled by having the physical keyboard app launching, keyboard shortcuts, etc

I have a Blackberry classic and man it was nice, too bad they discontinued the software updates. I'm planning on getting the CAT S22 now from a Galaxy Note 9 since it came out. I honestly don't see why people spend over $1,000 phone to just use social media. Can't wait till they make 4k resolution on flip phones or these types. It would be awesome to bring back the walkie talkies again on the phones.

4:00 I can confirm with 100% certainty I am not one of those people. I have never owned a Blackberry, never even owned a keyboard phone. But after years trying to use glass keyboards I can say with confidence that I hate them and want a physical keyboard.

I also have as my back up phone my BB Keyone Black Edition 4/64, which I still love and I am not going to sell! The thing though is that after experiencing Android 11 on the TP, going back to Android 8.1 on the Keyone, or the Key2 for that matter, just feels, well old....Having said that, the original BB PKB is miles ahead, so there you are.....

One more very helpful review, as always! Thank you very much for this. One little remark though; unfortunately this is not a waterproof phone like the OG Titan. But I am OK with that and I do enjoy using my TP as my DD!

Good overview. Regarding the PKB and its supposed allure to BB fans: my BB experience was the Storm 2, the Z10 and then the Key 2. When they were new, I liked them all, but the one I liked the best was the Z10. The keyboard had nothing to do with it. OS10 was awesome and ahead of its time. i settled for the Key 2 even though it had a keyboard, but I really like my Titan Pocket better than the Key 2. it's about the size and utility, not the keyboard. Compact, rugged, snappy interface, and really nice native clock. i like the capacitive keyboard, if it's gonna have one, and it is easier to type accurately without spell check, but I would give all that up for the OS10 experience and the Z10 size and build (swappable batteries!!!)

Larger screens do NOT HAVE ADDITIONAL UTILITY! (In my opinion) I've had my iphone for almost 5 years. Here's something I want to say, as an owner of the blackberry bold, if I wanna see something bigger, I put the PHONE closer to my FACE. That's it! It's just a marketing gimmick at this point to have a big screen or a fancy camera. Steve, kids these days want to look vintage and have robust aesthetics just not possible with high end cameras like Apple. Some edit the heck of them so they won't appear soulless! I'm so happy this exists because it gives me hope for a device that won't shut down. I want you to look up Linux users putting Linux Mint or Ubuntu on this thing, it's crazy good! The reason why is that there could be an open source distro or OS that could develop by someone passionate enough. Not saying it exists, just saying it's possible with this phone! There's hope for a timeless phone here!

Thanks for this post. I've heard that this phone and the titan slim will work ok on Verizon and T-mobile but may have trouble with AT&T.

I can imagine Garmin making a hybrid smartphone like this. When the cell grid goes down, you can use it to text, e-mail, or talk through satellite connection. AT&T tried it, but wasn’t successful.

Haven't moved on from QWERTYs and still dreaming for a Blackberry like comeback. Have this phone too and until recently, still used it. Also until recently, Blackberry Venice user as well. Miss the Blackberry keyboard and security sssssoooo mmmuuuccchhhh

Great video! 2 quick questions: 1.) When I had the OG Titan, the Google Maps app wouldn't center correctly, and it made navigation in the 1:1 format impossible. I always had to force resize the screen to make it work. Is that a persistent issue on the Pocket? 2.) I noticed you have Pokemon Go installed, which is pretty resource-intensive, and a good litmus test for a smartphone's performance. How does it run on the Pocket?

Lol you don't need to be an og I never had a blackberry growing up but I got the titian and I tried to go back to touch screen only for a bit but I quickly found out that I don't like touch screen only anymore lol

What if I want this phone but I need to use the letter Ä very often? Can you access special letters like that easily on this phone?

My first real phone was a rumor and ai always loved having a keyboard. I have always hated touch screen typing.

running my sprint keyone (have a backup keyone too) until tmobile shuts down 3g/cdma. will hold out until the bitter end with the keyone. have a pocket waiting in the box for the day it no longer works

What is it? Answer a PHONE. Nothing more. Don't need social media. What is surprising is the indifference way BB responds to demand. They may LOOSE their customer base!

Great vid. This is my first keyboard phone and I am just loving it. There are some niggles like Google Maps, but overall my experience has been just fantastic.
