Life is fiddly to set up and quite noisy in operation, the saw is just doing it's job. Does it make any more noise than when in the lathe setup. The video was interesting, haven't seen this attachment in operation before. Thank You...
you're back. our Unimats are quite the little machines with all their attachments and all. Very versatile. I've seen this jigsaw but never set up and run. you're right-I'd have to experiment with the speeds. maybe speed your blade up some to quiet it? I'm finding out that my whole career has been with large machinery that when using the Unimat everything is fiddly. I have to slow everything down and be patient. then toss in my hands/fingers are too big. I don't have a use for the saw (YET)but who knows? I'm a sucker for tooling especially unique and rare stuff. was this an Ebay find? I'm still setting up my new shop but i have more content coming. which app do you use for editing? nice vid btw.
Hi Mike! Yes I'm back! after neglecting my RU-vid channel for a few months. 🥴 The fret saw was bundled in a lot I bought from ebay a few years ago. This is the first time I've ever used it! I'm more of a collector than a user I think. I'm a sucker for tooling too. 🤣 Especially anything miniature. 😎 I use shotcut for editing. It is fairly easy to use with a little practice. Best of all it's free! I'll keep an eye out for any new videos you make! 😎
I was wondering if you think this fret saw would make a good die filer, of course, with a few modifications. I just picked up a Unimat and am just starting out with the clean-up and overhaul. If anyone is interested, here is my first video unboxing the Unimat. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ImLhOnL4-_s.html
I don't know how well it would work but it's not a bad idea. It wouldn't be difficult to convert. It would make an interesting video if you decide to go ahead with it! 👍
