@@charles2521No it was because he wanted to surpass God. Here is a source - "According to Bible scholars, Lucifer was cast out from heaven primarily due to his pride and selfish desire to be like God or even surpass God’s powers and might. Biblical experts agree in saying that before the creation of the world and everything, God created the angels and archangels to be with Him in heaven."
I read her biography and was astounded at what a great person she was. She had more hardships than most and flourished under dire conditions. She had series of strokes and her bones broke while bedridden. She died 6 years ago on Easter Sunday. She too was resurrected free from pain and suffering. I remember falling asleep listening to her. She reminds me of my childhood. RIP
"You say "why do i need Lourdes water?" Well you don't, but it's wonderful to know it came from France". I love her sense of humor, innocent but shady at the same time lol. Hadn't she been a nun, she would have been a great comedian. She was a natural.
@@ad6417 Idk where you heard that, but that's not true. She came from an Italian family in Ohio, but permanently relocated to Alabama after she founded a new monastery outside Birmingham in the early 60s.
I love Mother Angelica! My favorite joke she made was a response to an atheist saying, “I would never be a Catholic. They’re a bunch of hypocrites!” And she responded, “Well one more won’t hurt!”
@@DefaultName-hs6gd You don't need to buy tacky jewelry to pray...and you sure as sh*t don't need to pay money to save your soul. Religious fraudsters have been pulling that con for thousands of years..."for 5 easy payments of $39.99, spiritual salvation can be yours!" If you think this used car salesman in a nun's habit is a lovely human being, you're just the latest sucker to fall for the oldest con on earth.
@@lifemusic1980 it was such an incredible documentary. Loved it. I didn’t realize it was about osho until after we started watching and I was blown away....”it’s that guru I used to watch on public access tv as a kid!”
She’s brilliant. I’ve never been a member of the Catholic Church or even Christian in particular but she gives amazing talks that make things a lot more clear. I’ve even considered attending Catholic Church but it’s so intimidating lol
@@EmilyElizabethxox it’s not intimidating go to mass it’s ok if you don’t understand, people will not judge you. I recommend Trent horn or Bishop Robert Barron on RU-vid as well as Fr. Mike Schmitz if you want to learn more about the faith
@@EmilyElizabethxox The Catholic Church is a house for sinners who want to seek to better themselves. Don't be intimidated, as nobody is above another person attending mass. :) It's easy to just walk in and sit at the back of the church. As a non-practicing Catholic, sometimes in my rough patches in life, I find myself at the back pews just taking in the peaceful atmosphere and listening to the sermon.
This is great, I remember watching her back in the 80’s for the ASMR, before we knew what it was. She used to have a show talking about different bible passages, and she was so no nonsense, it cracked me up.
It was Mother Angelica Live. They have them on the EWTN RU-vid channel. Started listening with the podcast, waaaay back before RU-vid was a thing. I am so much more into the videos.
Went to Catholic school for ten years, and am grateful for that time. My second grade teacher was Sister Gregory. A wonderful, kind, soft spoken woman. While we were writing or studying, she would walk quietly up and down the aisles to observe. Whenever she stopped near or at my desk I would have this overwhelming sense of calm. It has stayed with me all these years! (1963)
I love when she says, "oof, we sure need the Lord". Now I am religious myself but she is so funny, just such a cute little statement from a sweet women 🥰
@@goosieschmoo8239 It's funny how you Protestants claim Catholics worship Mary without there being a single Catholic or statement of Catholic dogma that will affirm this. You think we worship her in secret or something?
Mother Angelica has a lot of subtle shade going on, haha. "Why do you want a picture on your watch? Well, I wouldn't even want to mention some of the stuff you've got on your watch." LOL what does that even mean?? haha.
i think she might be referring to pocketwatches that people would tuck small pictures into, apparently it wasn't unusual back in the day to put in naughty/pinup pics.
@@phantasma616 Indeed, I think she may also have been referring to watches worn by very wealthy people that often include conflict diamonds or other things worth hundreds of thousands of dollars that were procured through violent methods or exploitation of peoples.
@@jimmydarm ah another view I didn't think of! I think that makes sense with a pious nun's view of poverty and charity, that a display of jewels like would be vulgar.
I literally remember being 4 years old watching mother Angelica and bob ross with my grandmother! Experiencing ASMR for the first time because of mother 🥺💜
Hahaha I love her! "we sure need the lord!"... We really do mother. She's got a great sense of humor. I'm not not religious but I used to watch her all the time because EWTN is based on Birmingham, Alabama where I'm from and yes, she has a very soft voice
She was wonderful - she was one of the founders of EWTN, the Catholic TV network, decades ago. Very strong woman with wonderful faith. Rest in Peace. And there's some solid ASMR here :)
I don't know why, but I feel so comforted and validated somehow that there is someone else in the world who has been impacted by the ASMR of Mother Angelica. My family could never understand why I watched on TV in the 90s....she was soothing, more than just her words.
Although you can wear rosaries; they are used to pray! As a Catholic we use rosaries to keep track of the amount of prayers we say. There is five sets of 10 beads each 10 is a “decade”. Thank you for this compilation!
Yep, rosaries: never mentioned by the bible or Jesus, just a ritual that the catholic church took from other false religions. Catholics love traditions that are from religions that their god hates 😆
@@Prizm44 nope! Mary actually appeared to St. Dominic and gave him the Rosary to spread throughout the world! none of this nonsense that u said is true. the Rosary came directly from God through Mary, our mother. God bless you ❤️
I feel like I could sit next to you on the couch and listen to you tell me about your day and be asleep before you finished talking about breakfast :) great video thank you!
Yes, Mother Angelica does have a beautiful voice. But you do as well! I just love seeing you sitting in that chair so comfortably, with that blanket draped over you. You look and sound so gentle, so at peace with the world. You help me feel some of that same peace, in this world of suffering and sorrow.
Technically speaking, rosaries aren't designed to be necklaces. They can be, but typically aren't- their point is to count prayers, and wearing them solely for fashion would be a little weird. Splitting hairs, I know, but they can still look quite nice, and even sound quite nice
So unexpectedly calming! And I’m not religious at all, but I really appreciate how you took the time to be clear that this is neither mocking nor an endorsement; just appreciating her and the program for what it is. So very well said!
You are a darling. As a chronic insomniac I often watched Mother Angelica on late night TV. I'm not Catholic but even so I loved watching her. And I am enjoying you now ❤
When I was a kid and in elementary school, I used to watch her programs when they would come on and now I know why. Her voice was so soothing and relaxing.
She reminds me of my Irish granny, who was a devout Catholic with a very sharp sense of humour. She would have got on very well with Mother Angelica. RIP sweet souls 🤍
I love Mother Angelica so much as a spiritual leader, but she's also really hilarious. There should be a compilation like "Mother Angelica Being Shady for 11 Minutes"
Rest in peace, Mother Angelica. I pray that you are with Our Lady and her Divine Son, Our Lord, Whom you served so tirelessly throughout your life. Pray for our degenerate and Godless society.
Actually interestingly enough that event (Saint Michael the Archangel casting Satan out of Heaven) hasn’t happened yet, theologically. It’s the event that will precede the coming of the Man of Sin (the Anti Christ). Satan is still allowed to go before Yahweh and accuse/be a jerk yet before the end, biblically God will send him packing.
Maybe you could do a compilation of Sister Wendy, the art history expert nun from public tv. I love listening to her hushed voice as she walks through a quiet art museum, talking about the art. Check her out when you have time!
This was very relaxing but the Rosary actually isn't a necklace! It's not supposed to be worn at all, but it's meant to pray with. Each bead on it is a certain prayer, and it helps us send our prayers to God and Mother Mary by praying with it.
I'm not Catholic, but I love Mother Angelica. I think she would have been an amazing individual to have a religious discussion with and yet not feel judged if your opinion differed. Blessings Mother. Requiescant in pace caelesti Angelica.
I'm not Catholic but I'm glad I found the ol biddy a year ago. Her old videos really saved me. I went to her church she made and it truly is beautiful. I wish I could have met her in person but at least I got to see her final resting place
I'll have to look up what ASMR stands for, but I am astonished to learn that someone else listens to the EWTN Religious Catalog Show for that soothing, sweet ducky little voice she had when presenting items ...I used to listen to them in the later 1990s before Mother Angelica died, and luckily recorded a few of them. Very grateful for your compilation and look forward to other videos by you.
"When you drive a car these days, you need the merciful Jesus with you...." isn't that the truth?? With the way people drive lately, especially. I enjoyed this compliation immensely. I remember watching her when I was a young pup. May she rest in peace.
I would always watch her years ago and thought what a gentle spirit and demeanor she has! Funny how we were experiencing ASMR across the world and didn't know lol
Considering it's expensive af to run the world's largest charity, world's largest food distribution network and the world's largest orphanage and education system is say a few bucks donation isn't a negative.
The church offers many free services and asks for donations, it’s the opposite of taxes that are taken forcefully and if you don’t pay they put you in jail and kill you if you resists the prison.
This is everything to me. First time I searched for something asmr-y was for the religious catalogue show. Im so glad I'm not alone in this. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I enjoy your 'narration' between the clips best of all. What a lovely soul you are. You're so right about helping others, the byproduct of which is one'sown spiritual growth ... as in Step12 of the AA 12 Step programme!
I remember watching this lady for ASMR years ago, before I actually knew how to define ASMR. There were several unintentional ASMR people on cable access TV stations. "Satsang" was one of them.
your commentary is again my favorite part of the video, but thank you so much for making a compilation of these! This will be way better than looking up episodes on RU-vid haha
