Unique is as real as it gets. He was even a legend here upstate. My uncle was in Marion with him. Humble, respectful but real. One of those legends that doesn’t get the accolades he deserves. Put some respect on Unique’s name. Great interview.
Its funny how so many are still tricked into looking at people as legends, whom heavily contributed and helped the higher ups, most unkowingly, destroy communities. And people wonder why the inner cities havent changed for the better in decades. People are also tricked into always and only pointing the finger outwards. Instead of demeaning the actions of people like this dude, they wanna put him up on a pedestal. Will people ever wake up??????
@@jaseallenson316 WTF are you talking about?! I’m not fooled by anything and I’m clear of mind. Being a Legend doesn’t have to do with morals. Do yourself a favor and look up the word before you come here with your pseudo-righteousness
It was good times but I'm glad I was too young to be in the streets but I swear to God those were the best times of my life!!! U could go to each corner and ask drug dealers for money by the time u reach 4 corners of the block u had 100 dollars at only 10 years old!!! U might have to go to the store a few times but I miss the 80s in Brooklyn... Forreal..
@@1967KID oh yea new york Ricans Kno what it is,, Puerto Ricans we're some crazy motherfuckers back then. And I can't front Puerto Ricans had hands!! Since kindergarten they always knew how to box in the 80s,, they use to play handball alot so it helped alot with they boxing skills lmao Dem niggaz knew how to fuckin box . Shout-out to all Dem Puerto Ricans in sunset park who use to chase us when we came from Flatbush!!!! Lmao good ole days....
Cuz they were man’s men with principles.if you have to come up with stories it’s pretty difficult. animals shoot you in the back, and blitzed running in autopilot scared. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of men of principles and honor. Those are respected and thriving. Make sure the word comes out your mouth is what you ment, so that you don’t have to explain or apologize. That’s one of those principles.
Vlad sounds like he is reminiscing from being right there with them. It doesn't seem like a interview, it's more like old friends getting together after being apart for a long while.
This dude is another certified hip hop legend that we didn't know about. He lived an incredible life already, and he's still doing big things ...his story is a long way from being over. I wish great things for you in the future. Without him hip hop wouldn't be what it is today.
This why shit will never change. It blows my mind, how this dude is literally telling people DONT follow his life cuz it wasnt worth it at all. He was just another dude that heavily contributed to destroying communities, yet you wanna put him on a pedestal. And its the lifestyle like his, that hip hop has glorified and influenced so many kids and young adults to wanna live the dead end street life. This was all part of a plan by the higher ups to keep crime and the prison population up, yet so many people cant see through the shit. Wake up yall
Chip hop we need to be concerned about today what the government is doing to America. Period. You people focus on the wrong things in this day and time. Smarten up
My hometown New Orleans sent Marcus Garvey back home to Jamaica. Many black people turned they backs on him out of fear and left him stranded with no help. But we had his back. R.I.P. Marcus Garvey. Parish to Parish. Shout-out to Jamaica.
You don't know your history , United States is the only reason Garvey is known because " jamaica" did not support him , he needed to go back to Jamaica
@@filaspeaks1094 You don't know your history or apparently can't read, yes America supported him at first but nobody supported him in the end. He was pushing a back to Africa movement, not back to Jamaica.
@@pagola your not from the hood you wouldn’t understand the metaphorical meaning behind it back in the day you depended on the street dudes played daddy to the kids on the street or held big cookouts and basketball tournaments for the neighborhood so that’s what we mean by neighborhood hero’s
@@J2U85 yea..poison my people and then feed us and give us basketball games..there is a reason why the hood is still destroyed..these guys were the last cog in the wheel to completely wage biological warfare on our people..never understood how they could be "heroes"...lost
Unique is like a more gangster version of Wallo267… both did their time an came home on a mission an haven’t looked back since… I first caught his story on Flip tha Script podcast with Queenzflip an GMoney. He ran this whole interview lol didnt even need to be asked anything he knew the assignment already… he jus needs to find his lane an then hit the gas… much respect an salute 🫡 this man💪🏾
When ya spend a number of years or decades in prison, your emotional maturity stops the day you go behind the wall. When I got out the things I did up till the day I went in are the only things I know about life on the street and I started thinking I should dress the same talk the same... I could recall everything I did up to that point but I didn't realize my friends kept living, experiencing life... and I hadn't. So I get why he can recall it so well and why he talks the way he does
This is one of those stories that make very intriguing movies. You can't knock the hustle, because there are underlying conditions that lead these guys into behaviors that all stem from just wanting to survive in a callous world. Unique is very intelligent. He learned at an early age how to survive in the jungle.
He migrated from Jamaica to America & learned very early how to Survive off of selling drugs to his own people! A Real Salt of the Earth Guy! A true Coming to America Story of a little migrant boy full of aspiration, hard work and work ethic Achieving the American dream! 😔
I can relate to his life in the Caribbean and coming to America. I came to America in the early 90s and it was a culture shock. It was the time of the crack era, that time was a crazy. Trinidad 🇹🇹 make me, but America 🇺🇸 raised me.
Sending the barrel back home story my mum used to pack up a red barrel to Guyana 🇬🇾 from England 🏴 full of necessities... and stuff that was hard to get in Guyana... family back home loved our Heinz Baked Beans...Well to cut a long story short..it was a hit and miss if all the contents of the barrel was received by the recipient.. glad your family got the luxuries like the tvs
They Don't make men like him anymore. So glad he got out and is doing something for the culture that's positive now. Shot out to Mecca Audio and thank him for mentioning LeeLee a lot of ppl don't know she's a DJ. He's almost 2 Real ❤️ him!
Got the pleasure to meet Unique and travel with him to help his content. He was at 24k subs when I met him he at 64K now, shout out to this man. Learned alot from him in the time we spent, thats the goat fr
One of the " Real Bruhz" from our era in NYC 👊 As a ballplayer in NYC during this era during the early 1980's Brothers supported us paying for tournaments and putting 💰 in our pockets. Excellent podcast 💵 💰
He brought that swag to the 7 cities, them summers in 90 and 91 was wild in VA Beach. It was like every cat getting money from NY and DC down to Atl was out there on the strip. Alot of prisons were built because of those VA summers.
I know of/knew the interviewer Cavario Hunter…great writer “Raised By Wolves”, and NY legend himself…super happy to hear him conducting this interview ❤
UNIQUE be DRY BRAGGING, LOL He be telling these stories acting like he's trying to school the youth, but on the low, he's just using that technique as a means to BRAG about his life style back in the days, LMAO He knows young people are fascinated by those kind of street tales, & hes taking full advantage of that bullshit, LOL He's low key GLORIFYING his past life, & his mentality is still stuck in that era, lol His ass dont fool me not 1 bit, lol
Hope these youngers get to listen to this what a journey ! I have no knowledge of this kind of street life, single parent father who stood ten toes down for his children to not get attracted to certain things no matter how tough life got ,however i cant not have the full respect to these brothers that were in the trenches of life and still kept their integrity as men whatever price they paid and are glowing in their reinvented path, Bless up to Unique Mecca Audio Big Boosie keep showing up to teach the youth.
@@jaseallenson316 who is Big Gene, if you don't mind me asking?!! This Unique guy can really tell a story but his personality is so dope that I just found him refreshing.
When me hear him talk [atios/patwa ( Jamaican ) dat really drew me even deeper into the interview..Jah know...The Host sound like him know some Patwa as well lol Good interview...gonna check him out
