Unique Recipe❗ Nobody will guess how you made it! Easy and delicious!
I make this Napoleon cake all the time! Even beginners can make it in minutes! 🍰✨
Ingredients:
1 liter of milk 🥛
3 eggs 🥚🥚🥚
60 grams of flour 🌾
500 grams of puff pastry 🥐
60 grams of sugar 🍬
A piece of butter 🧈
Instructions:
Prepare the puff pastry: Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into equal-sized squares or rectangles, depending on the shape you prefer for your cake layers. Place the puff pastry pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Let them cool completely.
Make the custard filling: In a large saucepan, bring 1 liter of milk to a gentle simmer over medium heat. In a separate bowl, whisk together the 3 eggs, 60 grams of flour, and 60 grams of sugar until smooth. Gradually add the egg mixture to the simmering milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency. Remove from heat and stir in a piece of butter until melted and fully incorporated. Let the custard cool to room temperature.
Assemble the cake: Place one layer of baked puff pastry on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of custard filling over the puff pastry layer. Repeat the process, layering puff pastry and custard until all the layers are used, finishing with a layer of custard on top. Optionally, you can crumble one of the puff pastry layers and sprinkle the crumbs over the top for decoration.
Chill and serve: Refrigerate the assembled Napoleon cake for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the custard to set. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve chilled.
