UNISIG B-Series machine trepanning process performed on a round work piece. Trepanning is a machining process alternative to solid drilling where only the outer part of the hole is machined, leaving behind a solid core. One of the benefits of trepanning is that it reduces the energy required by allowing a larger diameter hole to be drilled, yielding higher productivity. An additional benefit is the remaining core can be recycled or re-used.
