@@HiStandardDoubleNine I know you commented this like 6 years ago but how did a history major work out for you? considering it bcs its one of my passions but I don't know if it's unrealistic or a bad idea to go into history
Bozeman you rock these videos are getting me through college seriously, you have been able to answer and clarify anything im confused on. way to be legit
He said that red hair and freckles are linked genes, however this is actually a case of ONE gene having multiple effects. The MC1R gene can be involved in causing both red hair and freckles.
I'm confused. You said for the lac operon if lactose is present then the operon will be turned on but I've heard otherwise. Since bacteria prefer glucose over lactose, lactose can still be present and not be able to remove the repressor for transcription because the bacterium would be breaking down glucose instead. Only when glucose levels are low will the bacterium resort to breaking down lactose. Is this correct?
Thanks! I have an exam on Thursday for chapters 13-17 from the Campbell book (I think that's the one you use.) I also have 5 steps to a 5 AP Bio study book as well as Sylvia Mader's Biology book. I'm aiming for a 4 on the AP test so I don't have to take it in college!
microbiology has a genetics involve and i suck at that because i did not had a bunch of knowledge and my brain was a butt but now i understand what the heck is genetics. i guess i am just going to persist and try to do well in that teas exam. i think i can be a RN though.
Great TED video (if you haven't seen it) that helps to visualize the whole Genome. Can't seem to post link here, so search TED.com for "Drew Berry Animations"
