I have never had an interest in aviation and I don't even remember how I got to this video, but now I'm hooked. I don't know a thing about aircraft or air traffic control, but the fantastic editing is so pleasant to watch and everything is displayed so well that I can still appreciate the events that are happening and even make some sense out of it.
I was writing this comment and not paying attention to the video playing, so when it got to 2:14 I thought Tower just started cussing UAL2138 out and I can't stop laughing.
Very underrated channel. I love the graphics, really makes it easy to tell who's talking, what taxi instructions the aircraft in question is following and the current situation at the time of the event.
Was very glad to have this video as a birthday present. Great as always. Please make many more and often. Especially the ceremonial and special flights.
The background map is provided by Mapbox (with custom styling). All other elements are generated in custom software that I wrote - this includes the aircraft and tags, aeronautical map data (e.g., waypoints, routes, taxiways, etc.) and the captions.
I really like watching how atc deal with emergencies although I'll never get on a plane it's still nice to see how atc works (after I saw a documentary on 9/11 I decided to never get on a plane)
