United States Supersonic B-1B Lancer Aircraft for Multi Missions
The B-1B Lancer aircraft, also known as “The Bone,” is a supersonic conventional bomber with long range and multi-mission capabilities. The B-1B Lancer aircraft has equipped the United States Air Force since 1985. The B-1B Lancer Lancer aircraft has wings that can be adjusted in angle (variable wings) and is powered by four jet engines. The B-1B Lancer is one of the US Air Force's three strategic bombers, along with the B-2 Spirit and the B-52 Stratofortress 12.
Initially, the B-1B Lancer was planned as a Mach 2 supersonic bomber with long range and large weapons carrying capacity to replace the B-52 Stratofortress. However, this project changed to the B-1B Lancer aircraft which has a speed of Mach 1.25 with low penetration capabilities. Although developed as a nuclear bomb carrier aircraft, the B-1B Lancer Lancer aircraft is also used to carry conventional bombs in military operations in various countries.
