What we need now is a vaccine that protects us from politicians. As you all are taking the vaccine make sure you get yourself some stocks of different vaccine companies e.g, Moderna ($MRNA ), Aztrazeneca ($AZN) as they are very good add-ons to your portfolio ,since most of us lost so much during the lockdown.

Here in Australia, we would love the EU to allow the export of the vaccines that the European Countries don't want. Though locally manufactured vaccines (AZ) Should start rolling out from next Monday. No proof, but it appears that the delays of the AZ vaccine in EU and US could be attributed to other motives than safety and efficacy concerns.

He fails to mention that the type of blood clots the relatively healthy young people got, was not your everyday blood clotting but an extremely rare type. Similar to young children turning up with Kawasaki disease at the start of the pandemic. It is the rarity and severity of the blood clotting in otherwise healthy young people that is the cause of concern. His omission of this speaks volumes.

It is nothing but correlation, can never make these decisions on a weak correlation. For example If I have an unknown heart issue and I take some tylenol, and I have a massive heart attack 1 hour later. Was it the tylenol that caused it? No, correlation only, can't be definitive. Only an absolute moron would risk tens of millions of lives holding back vaccine over a weak correlation, there is no way the science or health advisors (if they are educated) would actually want this.

I have had a PE from a blood clot and checked with the Specialist about my risk and it is elevated due to a congenital condition called Leiden V factor. I had the AZ vaccination as I believe the risk is minimal compared to getting COVID-19. Exercise and healthy food with adequate water helps but a vaccine for me is essential. I ve been in my house for a year due to my risk and I am looking forward to working again and meeting friends. I have lost weight due to careful eating and managed to change my profession. I am amazed at myself. I have followed this lovely man for nearly a year. This useful news has probably saved mine and my family’s lives. I am very grateful for vitamin D advice and masks before they were common place. We would have had less fatalities if we had Dr J in an advisory role. The NHS and the scientists have pulled us out of this. They deserve double pay.

My friend has Factor V Leiden and her Dr told her not to get the vaccine, but if she did he recommended she take blood thinners a couple of days prior and a week following to the vaccine. I feel she is more at risk if she got COVID due to her age and weight. I’ve been looking for information on this subject.

If you watched Dr Campbells videos you would know that we know about them and the Yellow cards from which they are derived. Why do you think we wouldn't have looked if we are interested in that information - many are, some aren't because they know full well the proportion of and what the risks are, for their particular circumstances thanks to this channel. Did you think you were using a code or secret information that only "informed" people like you know of and that none of us know about ie, MHRA Prints lol??? I got hospital-acquired C. difficile in January 2006 (US), immediately following a nearly fatal case of pneumonia/sepsis/ARDs. It’s no picinc, but I didn’t realize it had killed so many people. Thanks to my doctor being willing to try off-label antibiotics, he cured me when the standard ones didn’t work. Reminds me of the current role of Ivermectin in saving the lives of COVID sufferers.

I just watched the Austrian news channel. The concerns with AZ vaccine are related to brain thromboses ( sinus thrombosis ), not deep vein thrombosis. These are far less common . They had 7 cases in 1 million and a few hundred thousand vaccinations.

It's not a mystery John, the complication, they are most worried about is the fact the clots are in younger people( as you know clots are usually in older people ), and the low blood platelet count, in the 4 cases in Norway. This LBPC can go undetected and because it can go undetected, there might be huge numbers of vaccinated people out there with LPBC if they were to ignore it, that would be unscientific., it's sensible to check it out. The vaccine rollout is a political issue in the UK,( Brexit ) so they think it's the same everywhere else, it's not. The delay will be a week at most, and since there is a shortage of vaccines, it's not going to slow the vaccine rollout at all, they will just use the extra astrazenica vaccines not used this week. next week. It's always great to get your unbiased and non-political update every day.

Well they should be more worried about the UK variant - because if that kicks off the number of clots in covid patients will dwarf anything that could possibly be from the vaccine by an order of magnitude. Utterly mad decision to stop vaccinating with the AZ jab. Why not stop the Pfizer as well, just as many clots after that vaccine! Blood disorder symptoms are very significant with covid19, even after infection. I'd put money on that being the source of the problems over the vaccine. What is the proposed mechanism of the vaccine causing clots ? I don't know of any.

My analogy is that there are 2 European cruise ship that collided and are sinking very fast with no rescue ships anywhere near them. One ship has low cost British/Swiss Az life jackets for those on the ship. But the Captain decides that there might be a problem with those Az life jackets. He has been told that one or two might not self inflate and those unlucky people might drown, So he decides no Az life jackets will be issued and people should jump overboard and try and swim themselves. Lots of people will drown but nobody will drown due to a failure of a life jacket. Meanwhile on the other sinking ship the German Pfizer life jacket has exactly the same self inflation problem but the jackets are issued to people as they are high cost European made life jackets. Does anybody else think politics and profit are getting in the way of saving European lives.

They're not worried about blood clots. They're worried about TTP, thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura (blood clots, bleeding and low platelets are some of the symptoms).

It's Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). There were in fact 20 reported cases and 2 deaths from a similar pathology reported back in Feb for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, didn't hear much about that though. These cases are extremely rare, they can also be triggered through natural infection from COVID and other vaccines (Dengue, Rabies in particular).

Important detail is the question of vaccine causing thrombolic events or it simply being coincidence. By that I mean in a population of millions you will get thrombolic events . I think some countries being overly cautious problem is then other countries feel if they don’t also suspend use of drug then they will look less caring. Obvious problem is more people will die of Covid19 as you mentioned. I had Astra Zeneca vaccine today 1st dose. Bit stressful given news reports but reality is I’m much more likely to be hospitalised from Covid19 than suffer ill effects from a vaccine.. Nurse vaccinating me said local health authority had been using Astra Zeneca vaccine in care homes locally with extremely old frail patients with no ill effects. I could tell from her face that she genuinely felt it was a good vaccine. The European medical authority have given it green light and is writing up its reasons given latest information regarding thrombolic events in some countries. So probably won’t be long until countries start vaccinating again. Problem is it rattles people. Let’s hope this latest suspension hasn’t caused more damage than a simple delay. Take care

In terms of losing antibodies or otherwise, I did a finger prick blood test in January as part of the national Covidence study in UK. Came back positive, a full 9 months after when I'm sure I had the infection. So good news re antibody life.

Sigh. Personally produced antibodies last longer than vaccine produced ones. So it hadn't told you anything. If you have had it and you are absolutely sure you had it, then you can never know what protection it gives you. If however I take the same vaccine you did and our antibodies are tested at 6,9,12 months then we can tell. Because there is absolutely no chance I've had it.

Why would one last longer than the other? (Answer, it wouldn't) In either case, the test that *should* be done is for the presence of T-cells. *They* provide the long term safeguard.

Carol. If you test positive for *antibodies* 9 months after you "thought" you had the infection, one of 2 things has happened. Either You *didn't* have the infection the first time, but were infected with a mild or asymptomatic dose when, or shortly before being tested, Or You had the infection the first time, antibodies declined, but you were exposed later, causing *T-cells* to recognise the virus, then produce *new* antibodies. So in either case you have been exposed, probably within 3 months of the test.

Good to hear. But a new study published at nejm shows that the efficacy against the south african variant is not good. You can be sick with the virus and pass the virus on too others i'm afraid. And right now the south african variant is getting momentum in Europe where it so far has been the kent variant. So while vaccinated you should maybe still take precautions. It looks like we all need another dose of some "miracle medicine" to stop this pandemic

@Albert Clarke No politics or news about the vaccine and politics blended together here in Norway - but it may be in other countries? Politics should not interfer with pure science in this matter - and I think it will not here in Norway. But based on the cases found here in Norway and what the doctors and professors say about AZ vaccine and immune response I do think that the vaccine will be on permanent hold. Instead I'm guessing we will go for other options. Here in Norway we are very transparent and open minded towards both the doctors,professors and each other - we register everything from taxes to vaccine records in open public registers - trust in each other is probably the nations best weapons against this pandemic - and that trust can only be kept alive if everything is transparent and the decision for or against the vaccine will stand the test of time.

Cancelation in Spain of Astrazeneca vaccine is definitely NOT due to any political alliances or prejudice against the UK for having left the EU. Today a 43 year-old teacher died in the south of Spain suddenly from a brain haemorrhage shortly after receiving the vaccine. There have also been several serious adverse events. Personally, I will not be having ANY vaccine from ANYwhere. Nor will my 9-year-old son who suffered serious adverse events after the MMR.

Very recent studies of T-cell activation in children in the US suggests that children get the infection at about the same rate as adults, but most have asymptomatic cases, shed virus for only about two days, and are almost never tested. If that is true, some countries with a lot of kids and vaccination programs may be seeing some effects of herd immunity already. It also means that sending kids to school is very risky for uninfected unvaccinated older relatives who live in the same household.

One vaccine doctor in Australia mentioned the paradox of blood clots with low platelets. Also, a higher prevalence of brain clots than what could be expected compared to other types of clots. Nonetheless, compare the risk of blood clots even if caused by the vaccine to the risks associated with COVID-19. A no brainer, yes?

Thank you Dr John for all your good work on this channel. I'm a great believer in statistical data when we know its accurate. The question I had in the previous video has been answered. "Pfizer and Moderna, appear to be linked to a similar number of blood clots" and still a lower incidence rate than the general public who have not yet had any vaccine. Therefor, none of the vaccines can be associated with "causing" blood clots. My wife and I will have the AstraZeneca vaccine next Monday and quite frankly can't wait. Call your county health services, in the blue pages of the phone book, they may be able to set a date, time, and place. That's what I did after asking several medical places I have history with that might have been possibilities and they all fell through with "we just don't know enough about it yet." The very day I got my first moderna, my cell was ringing every 15 minutes from numbers I've never seen before, but all of them a good six hour round trip drive. This one is 30 minutes away, my second dose is due a few days away on friday with the next level eligible (50 plus) opening that same day. I expect it to be a bit busier than last month. First projections for me were in the summer.

the EU are looking after their people. they understand that people are not as open to vaccines as they might have been in the past. so halting the certain batch over concerns is a very clever way of telling your people that you are taking the utmost precautions with these vaccines that many do not trust.

@Peter Mortensen it starts immediately. The body sees the vaccine as a danger. Which it isn’t. The body starts making antibodies right away. As with any healthy bodies immune response to a vaccination (virus and bacterial infection) experts say its about 14+ days.

The AZ situation is not political. These very specific type of blood clogs almost FOR SURE came from the AZ vaccine. These are not "normal" thrombosis, these are cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome, which treatment requires very complicated antibody therapy. Bloodthinners, e.g. simple aspirine has no effect here. In comparison to covid19-related thrombosis: bloodthinning does help. AZ is clearly causing in very rare cases some immune system disorder. The reason why vaccinations stopped is that this very rare side effect has to be officially added to the list of side effects of AZ, to correctly inform the person being vaccinated. This has primarily legal reasons (e.g. liability in case of adverse vaccine events).

China has been slow to vaccinate its people relative to other countries, administering 3.56 doses per 100 people so far, according to Zhong, in a population of 1.4 billion. The fastest to vaccinate is Israel, which has given 94 doses per 100 people. The U.S. has administered 22 doses per 100 people. I find the reluctance of China to vaccinate very unusual

When I first googled blood clots and Covid vaccine a month ago due to my own personal medical history, it was the Pfizer vaccine that kept coming up as problematic in my searches here in the US. Since we don’t have the AZ vaccine, I can’t speak to AZ. But it has been an anecdotal issue reported by users for Pfizer for a while now. But like with AZ, it is not statistically significant numbers experiencing the issue.

Dr John wonders about why they suspended AZ. The Norwegian's said that the cases of blood clots were in young healthy people with no other conditions. He says blood clots aren't so uncommon, but are they common among young healthy people with no underlying conditions? I'm not sure. Also, they said the type of clot and condition those people had was extremely unusual. That's why they need to be cautious and I think they are right.

We're doing 1.5 million tests a day and the daily cases reported have not risen for two weeks now. Also, I understand the lateral flow tests (used on school children) can give one false positive for around every 2000 tests (according to BBC), so UK cases are getting down to lower levels, well done UK!

Keep your head firmly in the sand.. it's more than just clots per population.. the victims have several clots large and small in their vascular system as well as dropping while blood cell counts.. that not normal, it's vaccine injury.

Estonia did not suspend AZ. We had a discussion about it and nothing was cancelled or paused. Problem for us is that AZ is not able to send as much vaccines as needed and ordered.
