"the game is just becoming about having a higher number than your opponent's rather than possibly having a good strategy". How do you not make a Dragon Ball joke there?
The dodge counter that ssj4s have is actually available in Red Zone Broly and other dodge disabling events now, because they've been changed to be considered counters. Though this is still something they probably plan to phase out, because the new LR Full power ssj4 Goku doesn't have a dodge counter.
I remembered still playing dokkan events with awakened sr units to be SSR. Fav ost is STR SSJ4 Goku and that will never change even with the newer music, only real og’s know what’s up.
I remember fighting AGL Super Vegito back then. That was a rough Dokkan Event. You basically needed another guy who already had Super Vegito, then get Ninja Murasaki to remove the enemy Vegito's Super Attack, and then let your Super Vegito counter all of his normal attacks. It was so rough because he was only weak to Fierce Battle, and back then there weren't that many units of the same type that had fierce battle. After that, I always had a softspot for units that could remove super attacks. And now every boss is immune to that, so, meh.
On the thoughts of how to make debuffs work again: Just make it that you cannot change them one after another. If a boss gets stunned, they cannot be stunned for another 2 turns. Same with super attack sealing. Make ATK&DEF Debuffs only half as powerful, and make dodge only work half the time.
Yes, I agree that mechanics in this game have been taken on harder content in the game. I don’t see many bosses being able to sealed or stunned so bosses being able to be stunned or sealed for a turn and half and can’t be debug for two turns is a good idea and it builds up strategy as well. Having units still have stun or seal in their kits makes them limited to being useful in certain content in the game especially if they rely on debuffs to get extra atk and def related stats like LR Frieza and Goku or Possessed Supreme Kai of Time. Also it can make things more balanced in game.
That does explain what happened when I tried to use two Turles units (STR LR & AGL Great Ape BTW) on the same team and kept running into bosses that were just immune to stun. They *REALLY* need to do something about this if they're gonna keep releasing units with stun kits.
There actually is a sort of middle ground to stun now. Known as the fear mechanic it’s basically a stun that gets rid of one attack. I think that’s immensely more balanced than stun locking a fight and making it way easier than it should be.
In the new Omega Shenron fight on the JP version allows you to attack debuff the 1st phase of the fight. Making his high damage super attack easier to survive, since dodge us disabled during that phase
This is what happens when you are playing a Gacha from 2015 and almost 10 years old. It loses all sense of balance evenually and the f2p players can't catch up.
