There’s actually a way to access the menu in the autobuild, first, launch a client and a server through the quick start section in the project tools Then, go to settings and change any setting, by doing that, it’ll generate a user.cfg file Now in the autobuild folder create a new text document and name it game In the game.txt file type in load Level_Menu (remember capital letters) Save it and change it from game.txt to game.cfg Now if you start the autobuild without the quick start tool from the project tools you should have full access to the menu!
How did you get it to work without getting a Unity Package Manager Error? I have researched and done everything under the sun but despite my best efforts, I get the same error. I have tried using the Unity version in the video and I have tried using the Unity version specified in the README file as well with no luck. I cloned it with the same software he was using in the video and tried Github's version as well- no luck. I took the screenshot of the error: gyazo.com/b30886cffc756607289ff73f17f39237. When I do click continue the packages show up but I don't get that FPSSample toolbar extension nor do any of the assets work. Please help my god ;-;
@@hubertkomar4552 i got the same error, thing is you actually have to checkout at an older version, so clone the repository and then use git checkout ca17c58, it should work, use unity 2018.3 beta 12 and follow the tutorial
I believe it was Windows only. Note that this project is no longer supported by Unity. You will need to get the exact build of Unity 2018 in order to run it.
Thanks for the ans, I just wonder can the coders of this standalone have unwanted access to my comp via the server Im not that savvy on that aspect of it and I'm trying to catch up now?
No, you're cloning their repo. You're just making your own copy and working from that. You don't have permissions to change their original work. Note that Unity no longer maintains this FPSSample project. It was locked off to Unity 2018 (see whatever version it was save with). FPSSample does not work with 2019 or later. It's just a learning example. Do what you want with it.
Curry Games I don’t know. It doesn’t look like this repo has been updated in a while. I would use the same version that the current repo is using if you want to guarantee compatibility
Speel TV this repo is no longer receiving updates from Unity it seems. You probably need to use Unity 2018 or whatever version was used to create the latest repo
