Soooo sweet video…I love your video and amazing explanation…probabbly better than Amazon hahaha…I will keep it as a reference……I will have a nice Sunday after this video…..
I have only used this with a cargo cage attached. So I don't know about using the Bars by themselves. Of course it will all depend on the placement on your car as well car as well
Can't tell by the video but if you look at the mechanism inside, can you tell if you could easily detach the bar from the side mounts, cut down to size and reattach the bar? It's secured somehow but the question is how.
93 comments. Good gosh.. Listen ! From my experience, unless that plastic lever shaped like a T is pushed upwards, it will not lock. So when you close the end cap / put the key in / and lock it / the T lever is downwards. That means if you give the bar a pull upwards , it is not locking, and the metal tab will slip out. I hope no one in the comments section dropped their cargo and injured others.
I'm waiting on an answer for you too..I'm wondering if I can put my rooftop tent on...it's 56kg..my concern is the rack decent enough or will it come off while travelling and kill anyone driving behind me😦😣no one seems to know..
@giainhsumofamily9038 actually there s lots of videos where people coiled a rope around it and it stopped wind noise completely. 1 more question. I worry about the rubber foot leaving permanent marks after I removed , is it true?
@@isaacstone7899 the edge where the door opened from side to side is about 43” on the fit. The strap to tie down is about extra 2 or 3 “ from each side. I think 43” would fit perfect for your civic
Thank you for clear instructions.. I wouldn't recommend these or putting anything substantial on them..one of the claw feet that hooks under the frame BENT during instal..no way is safe to load up.
This rack leaves a bunch of brown oily stuff on my cars paint job that i cant get off!!! If you care about your car's paint then don't buy this rack for $50.
It's all over ebay everywhere, standard mass produced Chinese rack. It also leaves an oily residue on your car's roof that will stick inside of your paint. I would not recommend buying this rack
