How to make homemade cognac from moonshine - a simple and versatile recipe from natural ingredients. We collect a composition of cognac from 7 natural ingredients at home.
Ingredients for making homemade cognac:
1. Double-distilled moonshine diluted to 45% strength - 3 liters
2. Light raisins - 300 gr. (100 gr. / Liter)
3. Dried rosehip - 12 berries (4pcs / liter)
4. Oak sticks - 3 pcs. (1pc / liter)
5. Dried cloves - 2 pcs.
6. Walnut partitions - 1 pinch
7. Natural honey - 1 tablespoon
Step by step recipe for making cognac at home:
In a 5 - liter jar we prepare double distilled moonshine with a strength of 45% - 3 liters. Cognac is a distillate, so our choice fell on moonshine, as it is also a distillate. We take 300 gr. raisins and fry them over low heat in a dry skillet until swollen. After, practically, all the raisins are swollen, add them to the jar of moonshine. After that, add dried rose hips to the jar - 12 pcs. At the rate of 4 berries per 1 liter of cognac. To add taste and aroma to an oak barrel, as well as to imitate brewing in an oak barrel, we add oak sticks, which are purchased from a specialized distilling shop. We proceed from the proportion 1pc / 1 liter. To add a subtle aroma, add 2 clove buds as a spice. In order for the tincture to turn brown cognac color - add 1 pinch of walnut partitions. And, finally, to soften homemade cognac, as well as to give a velvety taste, we add 1 tablespoon of natural honey. After all the ingredients are added to the cognac, the jar must be sealed and sent to infuse for a period of 1 month. It is necessary to insist cognac from moonshine in a warm and dark place, shaking it regularly. If it is possible to infuse cognac for a longer time, then it will have a favorable effect on its bouquet of aroma and taste. After insisting, homemade cognac must be filtered and poured into a glass container and allowed to rest for 1 week. After that, the cognac is ready to drink.
