Nothings wrong with the girl being more successful??? why is it always the guy who's supposed to earn the most. Women are most if time better in school and they just drop out bc they get married and have someone to provide for them. He DOES have to have a job but it's OKAY if she earns more.

Barely gona go to her dad and say hey I really wanna marry your daughter, and plus shes gonna pay for me to live BTW. I think this video is really good, especially because the advice being given is really realistic and practical in the day and age we're living in. lol and defs, if she doesn't feel like working one day or wants to look after the kids and stay at home for a while. Who will provide? right, and we wouldn't want to put our spouses in those situations. so definitely agree. prevention is better than cause. great vid!:)
well yhhhh but tbh most girls like a guy who is the carer or provider and in Islam it is kind of your duty as a husband to provide for your wife and kids etc but that doesn't mean she can't work or earn more but it's just to put into consideration the fact that the husband should be stable enough for him to earn enough just in case if she was to stop working then he is still working and earning lots. Also most parents these days look for a husband that is stable and has the same or higher level of education for their daughter to marry, as they don't want any random person who doesn't know what to do in life, has no good education or doesn't earn any money.
I say stick to your uni! its ur safety, you are a man and you will have a family in the future. I don't know how it is in your place but the market is progressing and its very competitive. you can be just the right guy for a job but some companies require a degree or they offer different salaries for ppl with degrees. You don't want to regret it in the future , do your best even if you changed your major. All the best!
First of all let me say that I am not Muslim, I am Christian. What is going on in this crazy world we live in at present is horrid, its very very painful for all of us. However what you two are doing is utterly wonderful. You are hopefully opening many eyes to the reality of how it could be, if only others were as open as you two are!! It makes my heart sing to listen to your normal banter and fun exchanges of views together. This is how it should be in my opinion. I'm married and have been for many years, our marriage is very sound, and built on love and respect for each others values. We are both European but were brought up differently, due to the fact we where brought up in different countries, however we both have the same value system. I love to watch your videos, you are both in my opinion genuine and good Muslims, you are both showing those who know of you a good and happy way to integrage all that is good about Islam, and all that is good of other faiths and belief's too. I applaud you both, and I just know that Hannah will turn out to have a very balanced view of the world if you continue to live as you appear to at the moment. I simply adore your humour and incidentally Dina, you are very beautiful, and Sid you are one very handsome man. I reckon Hannah will be stunning with both of your Gene's, love you both xxxxx

I say he just needs to work more harder. It's very hard to adjust to uni life because most students are spoon fed. He just needs to prioritise his studies and stick it out

i felt like this when i was at college i know how you feel! i just completed my first year of uni and its not all i expected it to be but nontheless i dont know why i was worried! i sometimes feel as if it is easier than college but everyone has different experiences:)
What dina said at 9.40 is so true. Ive been trying to finish for coming up to 7 years now and I cant get past it because my heart and mind isn't into it and Ive been forced to do it. Not only that but it has affected my health and Ive developed bad depression because of it and my parents dont want to understand or accept it. Keep me in your prayers please..
Hey Dina! You know you shouldn't say inshaaAllah in your duas, one should be firm in their supplications. The Prophet [salAllahu alayhi wa salam] said: “Let not any one of you say, ‘O Allaah, forgive me if You will, O Allaah, have mercy on me if You will.’ Let him be resolute in the matter, whilst knowing that no one can compel Allaah to do anything.” [Saheeh Bukhari and Muslim] Tip: When making dua also make istighfar (it is usually our own sins that prevent our duas from being accepted), send peace and blessings upon the Rasul (s.a.w) and never say inshaaAllah in a dua. May Allah accept your duas if they are good for you

When there is rain u say allahuma sayban nafiaa and then you can add whateva you want but even den I hardly eva use it exept for really heavy thundery rain
People are getting confused. There's nothing wrong with the woman having a job, or even a higher earning job than her husband, BUT islamically the man must be the provider regardless! It is his responsibility to pay the bills and earn, which is why Sid&Dina probably keep bringing it up.
In my first year of uni i was so motivated and passionate about my course. If you already feel like it's too hard, it sounds like you don't really like studying it. That's totaly ok. You're only in your first year. Just study something you like. There are so many options. And don't stress about it too much. Don't going to uni isn't the end of the world.

Being open abt spousal jealousy , sense of belonging & fidelity & setting boundaries plus the struggles that comes with it, how messy the 1st yr of marriage & that it's all ok, calling ppl out for putting u down or being jerk unnecessarily, being silly, rough playing with each other yet mature at times with your q&a trying to understand ppl's probs that they write in to u.. Being frank abt some Muslim struggles & issues.. "Be real" is so underrated.. N sharing personal stuff on YT when so many could judge.. Somehow u mk it all so cool at the same time.. Knowing how to be informal & still touch on stuff related to faith every nw & then..
I was really enjoying the video until 11:40. Why does it matter if she is making more than him? If they are happy together, it shouldn't matter who is making more as long as they are both equally committed. But different strokes for different folks, I guess.

parents need to learn that the should guide and encourage their child (adult) in life NOT control them. his mom telling him she gonaa disown him WTF. i bet when hes mom married she was 13 and her husband made tuppence with no degree what so ever. this is one of those situation where the PARENTS make sin widely open and better than allowing her son to do the right thing marrying the girl.
There are plentyyyy of alternatives out there to university. Look into school leaver schemes/apprenticeships etc. I currently do one and I'm in a better off position to those studying at university in the same field. Also another thing, don't go crazy thinking and trying to get everything to fit into your plan. Life doesn't work that way. InSha'Allah everything works out for you!
Just a comment on the whole Computer Science major being hard and all. I just finished my first year of studying CS. The first course/semester was freaking hell. I despised it and was looking into switching it out, but I had people around me telling me to stick to it just until I finish my first year before making the decision of switching majors, and let me tell you I am very thankful I've stuck with it. I have really come to enjoy it and the challenges it brings. So I would say to give it a proper chance before giving up on it. The first few months are hard because you're basically learning a new language so you'd find yourself understanding nothing, but you will soon get the hang of it, with practice of course, and once you do it because actually very fun.
I'm sure you guys have your bad days too but seriously you guys are couple goals. MashaAllah. I like Sid more and more in each new video. Stay blessed ameen. :)
For some careers degree's are very important like examples are if you want to be a nurse, dentist, teacher, Doctor, engineer you NEED a degree to do these jobs. But mind you there are many other options like school leaver programs and you can become an accountant etc

No, they were correct in stating you DO NOT say inshallah while praying/making dua. You only say it it for future actions like "I will eat breakfast tomorrow inshallah"
Yh, its bloody dreadful, constantly raining and chilly with grey miserable skies. Occasionally we might get a nice summers day but thats like 7 or 8 times a month.
I had this fear of not graduating from college in my first year. I now realize it was an irrational fear. Im entering my senior fourth year now and happy about it. Also, in my uni the first year is considered more challenging by many, because we all studied a more general curriculum that took a lot of skills; taking classes from a favorite major later was easier for most of us. So out of my experience I would not advise to drop out just because you're afraid. I think that grades and experience from at least two-three semesters should give a better idea on the possibility of graduation as well as show whether it's worth studying.
Altynay Narmanova University in the UK actually gets harder with each progressing year and the year tends to be 2/3 semesters only anyway. So it's not really worth carrying on if he thinks he's going to fail or doesn't like it.
stick with your degree. its better to get a 2:2/2:3 degree than to explain to your future employer/the girl's parents why you've dropped out. a bit embarrassing to have that on your cv too (if you include it)
join the Islamic society at your uni, you'll definitely find someone who can help you out with uni and give you advice on how to manage your degree. definitely don't drop out

2:3 and 2:3 really isn't appealing on a CV and why would anyone include it in their CV if they don't gain any kind of qualification (even level 4/ first year). If the person has a back up plan they'll be fine, but I do agree that people expect degrees these days.

I was pushed into law for my undergrad by my typical family competing with other Asian muslim families, and in a months time I will become a lawyer. But I never wanted to be a lawyer in the first place, I didn't even want to go uni, instead I wanted to be a boxer and deep down inside I still want to be a boxer.
you can still be a boxer I reckon. the only thing that makes me question it is the stability and also the risk of injury. So maybe continue with your career and do boxing as a hobby?
Uni is not the only way to make money. my older brother is a gas engineer and is making a killing. It is hard work and physically taxing. He works for another business but is learning the ropes before he starts his own. It's hard but inshallah it's a halal way of making money.
tbh if I was the girl, Id be worried more so about the fact that he seems like a mummies boy and that he doesnt have a direction in life......people like that are unstable and indecisive!
These day the muslim women are the one who are pressured THAT of they want to marry or even be considered as marriage material they have to be not only the homemaker aka maid for her in laws, cook ,clean serve. follow the 7 pillars. she is expected to have a degree work full time and pay the bills as well as look like Americas next top model. this guy needs to man up and do what he knows whats best for him, and his future cuz living life for ur parents is gona end up really shit. Respect them yeah, but dont let them make you live the life they have always wanted.
Lol right she has to be a 10/10 in all ways but he actually thinks his love and loyalty is enough for any woman. Pah only a dreamer would think such a thing. Pressure is on both really. The girl needs the looks, personality, wifey attributes and education and work and the man also needs the looks, body, skills, loyalty of a man, success at work and money. The marriage market is one huge competition, unless you are deluded you will know that a beautiful girl with everything going for her will have several hundred marriage proposals so why would she settle for you if she has a better offer from somewhere else. You wanna win you have to be the best offer yourself and yes if this guy fails uni and doesn't succeed in life I GUARANTEE that even his loyal girlfriend will suddenly not like him as much
Nazreen Mo like sid kinda mentioned it is the mans duty god has given him that he is the one who needs to have the job. yeah a women might be CEO and look like miss universe but if she wants a man who can help her in the way she desires whether he's a trash collector or CEO too let them live that life and see what happens, the dude shouldn't let mommy dearest control his life, but at the end communication is key they both need to talk about their future as one and not include family members. the prophets 1st wife used all her money to help him wen he had nothing so who knows...
