I drove the FFA school tractor through those halls back in 94. I am so glad this exists and I didn’t imagine it. Columbia Elementary is gone. My childhood!

I was in that school 91-94. Hacky sack in the bell yard. 6 telephone booths It was originally the central Florida University Collage. Then Discovery middle opened up a crossed the way. Students walked back and forth for their level of learning. ROTC was spot on back then. The memories. Oh my god wow!!

I’m set for class of 2027, and everything now is mostly wear for tear. Most stuff is pretty faded and not as vibrant but it still looks practically the same.

This school is such a great school it had the IB PROGRAM GT program and performing arts academy it's also a A rated school

Ram Sharma yeah both my brothers also went to UHS and one of them did the IB program which helped him when he started at the University of Central Florida.

I'm a 2022 grad and for any older grads, the tables were brown with chipped blue paint and the cliches on those tables STILL existed in my class! I was between the anime fans and theater kids before and during lunch so that was always super fun. Only issue was the rainy days... everyone got wet

I was a freshman there in '96! Seems the outdoor tables and lockers have gone from blue to brown. I'm curious, do you remember a hangout at UHS nicknamed 'The Cage'? It was the gated outdoor area with tables on the right side of the cafeteria. It's where all the goths, metal-heads, D&D players and anime fans hung out before school and during lunch. I was one of those teens that hung out there.

That's awesome. Yeah, I was a senior at UHS in '96. You know, I didn't hear about a hangout spot called 'The Cage' but that's pretty creative. Lol. That's awesome though that it's the spot where you hung out. I guess I mostly hung out at the 'Asian Bench' in the main courtyard. I think there was a 'Hispanic Bench' too and other cliques that are common in high school. The good 'ol days for sure!

I'm a junior here, the schools quite old buts that's one of the many charms that other schools don't have, they also have an Athletic Trainer program that I'm a part of that's headed by one of the teachers that wrote the exams for the entire state of florida, and this program is a one of a kind experience that I highly doubt you'll be able to find at many other schools, I'm gonna miss this place when I graduate, but my plan is to come back and take previously mentioned teachers position when she's retired. there is so much stuff here to do that I wish I knew about earlier, but it's a bit late for me now

Wow, that's awesome that you're a junior now. When I went to UHS back in '95, I was a 16 year old senior. The school was fairly new then. Sounds like UHS have kept up with quality programs like the experience you have described. I remember having good teachers when I was a senior. Don't worry about missing some of the stuff you wish you knew earlier. Look ahead at all the opportunities that are in front of you and try to help at least 1 person who is behind you. Even just a small piece of advice to a sophomore or a freshman would make a difference! Glad you found my video!

as much as i hated the school when i was attending it, now i kinda miss it. :x now i'm graduated and i have a job, i went there from 2013 to 2017.

Aww, I only went there for my senior year (did freshman to junior year in the Philippines) and that year at UHS was actually the best year of my high school! When I first came to Orlando, I figured it was up to me to make it the best year of high school :) Congrats on your job!

scott sorry to hear you moved every school year since you came to the U. S. You must be brave to survive each year. If you end up at UHS, it'll be an awesome year because YOU will make it an awesome year. When I went to school here, i was 16 and I was a senior (from the Philippines) 🇵🇭 but felt like a freshman because I didn't know anything about the school or anyone so talk about culture shock. But I made a decision before I started that I will make it the best year of my high school life and guess what? It was! So I believe that yours will be the same! Keep me updated!

I’m going to be a sophomore next year (technically this year) but I’m nervous cause it’s my first time in a big campus. The school I went before miss rona was very small but hoping to make new friends and new memories ❤️

It's ok to be a little nervous. After all, I was 16 (and a senior) and fresh from the other side of the world (Philippines) when I started at University H.S. I knew very little English and had to learn EVERYTHING! The language, money, teachers names, how to dress, everything! You're gonna be great! I promise! It was the best year of my high school. Make sure to set smart goals! Keep me updated!

Thanks for finding my video. Yes, UHS is a pretty nice campus. And yes, there's at least a thousand students I believe. If you get lost, it'll only be at the beginning. Try to look for and get familiar with a campus map before the 1st day. I promise you will have the time of your life! Make it a great one!

That's exciting that you might go to UHS on your Junior Year. It's a great high school in East Orlando. They have AP (Advanced Placement) AND International Baccalaureate (IB) programs which both offer college-level courses and the opportunity to earn college credit. Orlando is pretty ok too. Getting crowded on the east side though with all the colleges around and being close to the beach!

It’s the best public high school in OTown. Stay out of trouble, and get good grades. Most importantly enjoy those years they will fly by. Class of 08. Go Cougars!
