Pleased to know that the University has an "established process" in place. The issue now is whether and to what extent that "established process" is or is not transparent and/or uniformly applied.

Everything about this is just stupid. Wtf is an "Athletic Lecturer", and why is that a paid staff position at a university that already has a full on coaching staff? What exactly qualifies someone for the position, and how much does that position pay? How long has he been in this position, and how did he obtain the position? Why is the university statement on the matter a paragraph with no real human emotion just making an obviously fictitious excuse for the man and saying they are going to follow a process, as opposed to a strong condemnation of the fact that a member of their staff was recorded and reported for very bluntly and directly calling on fellow citizens to shoot and kill other citizens over assumed thought crimes, especially when he himself knew just how extreme his call to violence was by noting that he wants that part of the recording edited out so the dean doesnt see it? And to be clear, lets put this in actual context: This guy is saying this in the exact same election cycle in which the opposition candidate has had several assassination attempts on his life both from a hostile foreign government and from multiple domestic terrorists. There have been people shot at and killed on the Republican side within the last few months, and indeed several acts of extreme violence have been waged against Republican supporters for many years now. What he is advocating for and promoting is NOT just hyperbolic rhetoric, he is calling for the violence that is already occurring to be stepped up. This needs to be handled for exactly what it is: A call to terroristic action. Direct and blunt calls to murder fellow citizens for perceived political or social disagreements is NOT protected free speech. That is a terroristic threat and this dirtbag coward should be in a jail cell awaiting trail, not hanging out at his home sleeping in his own comfy bed awaiting a bureaucratic process from a university administration.

This is what is teaching our youth. Scary. Glad the student had the forethought to record it.
