University of Tampa says ‘human error’ left hundreds of ‘heartbroken' students without housing 

There's so many students that are homeless and attending school. Some literally living out if vehicles. Unfortunately most schools don't offer overnight parking.

I understand the feeling of living on campus. I have a bachelor degree, and if I can go back in time two years at a community college is best...Save money!!! Than go to your favorite University.

This is the type of ish I'm sick of. When regular people mess up there are consequences like getting fired or going to jail, etc. When institutions or the government mess up it's o well, our bad, moving on. And that's why the people no longer have any trust in the system.

Awww, geez. Fix it. Figure it out. You are a school, after all. Put the smart ones on it, now... and show more empathy and follow-up.

They could've got temporary trailers or tiny homes!!!

Try local homeless shelters.

Shame on University of Tampa they should've provided housing even if they needed to partner with more surrounding communities!!!

Just go to another school who actually cares about the students.

They should call their representatives in Congress

UT needs to make up for that. These people would have had time to plan a different arrangement if they did me up. I would simply sue.

If my employee makes a guarantee to a customer then I honor it, like all reputable businesses should. How about the university actually try and solve the problem instead of saying it was human error? I’m sure the school has an endowment so how about covering the difference between on campus housing that you guaranteed and off campus housing? Yes it will cost the school some money but this was their screw up. Also I wonder what the penalty was for the person who screwed up? I say that on the preface that the incoming students did receive written guarantees that housing was available otherwise not their fault. We all make mistakes in life that cost us money some are just more expensive than others. If it’s expensive enough I’ll bet you repeat the same mistake.

Go to another college. The problem is solved.

If they’re paying that much for living on campus they’re better off just getting an apartment with a roommate! And getting their daughter a car!

Bet I know what more students committed to going there and having the entire tuitions, housing, fees and etc paid for by tax payers. Or it could also be out of staters that flooded to go there. They need to have dates of applications checked and who got what and when. Would not be first time a college did some shady underhanded deals.

I guess university of Tampa doesn't teach responsibility. Lead by example

this is nothing new i had a friend who went there in 2000 and had to stay at the holyday inn cause the the campus was to full

Why is this happening all over the country? It's not even just universities, housing demand is exceeding supply all over the country?!

People look at going to University like a 4 year beach resort vacation. Screw the scenery, screw campus look and the expensive housing. Go to a place inland that is cheap, affordable, has housing on campus and off at reduced prices. Everyone learns the same stuff. Huge campus just means the professor will never notice you, know your name, or care unless you are the 1%. Colleges are massive cons that look to milk your money dry. They have overinflated staff just like big government, the campus is a liberals social experiment where all the staff all lean left. They take advantage of all the grants you receive like Pell Grant and in return they jack the tuition. Just look back before the Pell Grant existed and after it existed. Example: College costs 5 thousand a year. Suddenly people were getting 4-5k in grants. Suddenly the college is 10k a year. So you still pay that 5k and they walk around going, "We need funding, help, poor us." Then they hire 50 diversity counselors and cut student programs that would benefit you on campus while making you pay ridiculous packages for features you won't even see in your 4 years. Good luck with the college scam, I went and I argued every step of the way cutting stupid fees and charges I wasn't going to use. Sorry don't care for your gym fee, don't need your student medical fee, don't need this bs library fee. I never used the library ONCE through both my of degrees. It's obsolete and useless now. Everything is online.

Get the money back and look elsewhere to enroll, no need to get caught in all that drama. Also, why don't they have cars? Take em to get a license and a car. The car and license should have been the first thing scratched off the problem list!

College students loooool. Go to community college n save money. I see my co-workers complaining about student loans all the time. Most regretted and wish they went to a cheaper school.

the Student should buy a Semi Tractors with sleeper berth and live in the truck while attending school at University of Tampa, all school student assigned to condo trucks.

A lot of fine college heaux need a place to stay; you college dudes gotta get your game up and give those women some shelter and love.

She should get her money back and help her daughter get her license a car and a job before paying for somthi g just to get your daughter put of the house I'd drive back and forth knowing I live 100 miles away at any age she can g ok to college to get a degree in anything as long as its payed for I'm sure what ever high school she was at didnt tell her that at the time it's more important thoe if you are spending any type of money there are more important things right now your daughter needs then college

It should be the university's responsibility to make sure these students are housed with transportation and food plans.

Get an apartment and buy her a damn car, pick up a part time job. Problem solved..... She's old enough to work on the weekends as well since she's so in love with the damn campus. White privilege is so real😒😒😒. We got real problems in America.
