No. IF the lake continues to shrink, ecologists worry that the lakebed's microbial barrier function will fail, at which time there will be a biohazard. This winter's precipitation has raised the lake's level by 3 feet, however, so we're off the hook for now. Overall air quality in the summer is fine (and a lot better than it used to be); in the winter, temperature inversions trap smog, and cold fog, in the valley, which isn't so nice.
