I have had the uniweld crossbow for close to 20 years now. Its the og of ratcheting benders but i had to buy a new handle yars ago cause it shattered while bending 1 1/8. Cut my hand up pretty good when it happened. I still use it its a great bender but i use the navac power bender for 1 1/8 now. And i do like some of the features on the more recent brands

$900 for hilmor here, $450 for cps with both having reverse… guess cps is the way forwards since theres no great advantage to the hilmor

Which is easier to ratchet. I just got my CPS and it's damn hard to ratchet on 7/8.

They are all the same, there isn’t one that’s easier than the other in terms of ratcheting. Also make sure ur using soft copper for A/C application, there is also a hard copper for A/C that must be annealed first before bending. I honestly haven’t had any issues with mine, I’ve been using my cps for over 6 months and it’s usually for bending 3/4” and 7/8” copper.

The black max sucks i bought the black max and the handle breaks i did use it for a couple of jobs . im goin back to yellow jacket

I like the blackmax 165 $ on amazon

Yes blackmax is a good bender especially since all the mandrels are aluminum and it includes the reverse bending attachment at a affordable price

Wish the CPS had the marks on the mandrels for your bends left or right. Yellowjacket is the one I've spent the most time with its okay but they wear out after a while.

Yea it would definitely be helpful if the cps mandrel had marks. All benders basically have something their lacking in. I jus saw yellow jacket is now available with the aluminum mandrels so thats a plus👍
