"Unlasting" is one of the best ballads to come out of anime. It is a very primal tune. You can feel the pain of love when the person in your heart is just a fingertip out of reach. It's a song that you can wail and drown in a sea of tears. This arrangement retains those feelings.
I agree with you Leo Phoenix, don't get me wrong, I LOVE the anime, BUT SAO is not the best and not very well written, predictable plot line and such. Thank god that Alicization and War of The Underworld is SO much better

This song implies to alice and kirito, that sometimes you fall in love with the wrong person at the wrong time and that's actually so tragic. What hurts the most is when they tell you "if only we met first in a different universe" even tho this "other world" isn't it either... This made me cry. Dear God please give happiness to Alice!
Could also be the right person at the wrong time. If only they first met each other, their relationship would have blomssen. Alice could never have won, in any universe which is the most tragic thing, having something so close, giving your everything but still having it be unattainable. She shouldn't have to settle for anything else except for the one she desires.

I was listening to this piece while reading volume 7 of Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria. The original song + this piece + the whole Volume 7. Made me cry so hard at the end of the light novel.
Finally an amazing arrangement with swing melody on a typical 4 beats left hand line capturing the sense of time difference that is one main theme of this song and this anime. I am so happy right now
I have always loved this ED because I have very fond memories of the time i watched ALICIATION. Even though the anime ended with a lot mixed feelings i still loved with all my heart the music of SAO. You are amazing as always sharing this music of yours. Hope for a new season as good as aliciation for the next SAO
A really nice incorporation of Shirushi, but the swing feel was never really there, which was in my opinion the highlight of the ballad. It completely disappeared in the second chorus when the straight 16th notes came in for left hand (I'm assuming you're writing in 6/8) 😭😭😭
