The german autobahn is fun. I have a pretty quick car myself (subaru forester xt with 230 hp, no match for this brabus but still pretty fast. Did 230 km/h once on the autobahn and by then you are much faster than most will go. But then you look in your back view mirror and see a real sportscar. You move over and he takes off like a jet fighter haha. Always a faster car. But on the routes we take to holiday destinations the unlimited parts are not very long. Every few minutes theres are limits. Roadworks or just area's with a lot of exit's etc. Makes driving less fun. Just for the kick of it trying the fasted your car will do is fun. Outrun others by doing a bit over 200 uphill while they can not makes you feel mighty and on top of the world. But it is not relaxed to drive that fast. At least not in my car. But between 160 and 180 is still relaxed if it would be for long stretches. If there is too much braking and accelerating all you do is burn twice as much fuel and getting irritated. So in short, the autobahn can be a party but only if it is for long stretches.

Wish it was that way in the States .

Most of the time I drive a bit faster then most so I will be in the left lane. In the Netherlands but also when crossing Germany. Even when the middle lane is emty I will stay on the left. It is far more safe to stay left. Only when I see a car driving up to me in the back mirror I move over in time so he can pass without a problem. When you have trucks in the right lane and cars leaving the right lane to pass a truck or other cars and I would drive 200 km per hour in the second lane It is dangerous. No way you could brake in time when a car will not see you go so fast and thinks he can just slip out infront of you. Also once in a while you encounter total idiots. When it is busy on the road and there are many trucks in the right and middle lane and the left lane holds all cars that are travelling faster than the trucks. This means it will be a long line of cars on the left lane. And then there are people among them who think they own the road or something. Start giving light signals with the head lights and having their blinkers on on the left. And this while all are driving relatively slow in line to pass a slow point. What do they think? That we do not want go faster? All at that moment in the left lane want to go faster but we just can not because there is an other car infront like 5 meters away and another and an other and an other etc. Driving is a dynamic thing. There must be rules but they are guide lines. Not straight rules. The way you use them will change with the circumstances. Otherwise every car should drive in the most right lane unless they take over. This does not work that way. It makes traffic very hectic if it is a busy road. Look at a traffic jam. Every lane will move at it's own speed. Right will go faster than middle sometimes. No problem. If every car would go to the left first it would not work.

@@dextersxxxxlab I hear you and you are obviously an expert. Between the four lanes on a typical Autobahn, there must be provisions for moving between lanes. My only point is lane discipline. If you hog the fast lane on an autobahn, and you think your Ford Mondeo is sitting pretty at 180 Km/h then it will take a very short time for some German Uber Wagen to close in very fast behind you.
