Man... between the sand dunes and it surviving a dunk, the G Wagon is one impressive vehicle. Sure, they cost a LOT... but the sand dune launches? VERY FEW vehicles engineered for sand do as well as this G Wagon. Some pretty impressive driving on those dunes as well. I really wondered if he was gonna roll it. NOPE.

Most people do seem to forget that the G-Wagon was intended to be a top-tier offroader thanks to the amount of celebrities buying them just to drive them on pavement as a status symbol. Nice to see a return to roots.
It was almost bittersweet, I miss the old partner in crime/sidekick/camera man, I can't remember his name off the top of my head, but the one that was shoveling the concrete with him for the jeep tree. ❤️😭
They are tough machines, I had a 1980s one, drove a bit like a tractor, used it for off-road recovery. However it was SLOW, hitting 60mph was a challenge but I did drag a 18 tonne truck sideways with it.
I’m impressed that it’s still fairly tough. The old ones were obviously very different vehicles but it feels like Mercedes tried to stick to keeping them tough and usable whilst also slapping in a big V8 and making them luxury inside. While these don’t appeal to me much, you gotta admire the effort.
