Unlicensed dentist charged after leaving Chicago area patients with fake braces

A woman posing as a dentist was arrested in Schaumburg after customers complained she gave them fake braces and, in one case, a patient had a chipped tooth after a visit. Police investigated and charged the so-called dentist with a crime after a CBS 2 investigation.

unfortunately not true. Starting a REAL dental office can be expensive. Space in a small commercial building is pretty cheap and you can buy chairs that stretch out like dental chairs for a few hundred dollars.

I understand wanting to pay less because when I needed dental surgery and a tooth replacement it was quoted as 10k per tooth. Braces were about 5k on top of that. Most people don’t have that handy and are desperate. I went to Costa Rica for my dental surgery which has legitimate doctors who just charge less because the cost of living is lower there but people are impressed with the work done on my teeth to the point dentists here don’t know it’s a fake tooth until they see x-rays. But teeth are so important, specifically your gums, so you can’t have just anybody in your mouth because that will cause legitimate health issues.
