@@Jedi_Spartan Addison? Yes, he played one of Missy's subordinates in the last couple of episodes of Series 8. He might have also appeared in a few of the teaser clips of Missy that aired throughout the series, but I don't remember for certain.

I love how at 1:24 Milton Jones says that joke about being a WHO Doctor, because our Twelfth Doctor, Capaldi actually played a WHO Doctor in World War Z before being cast as the lead in Doctor Who!! :) And whaddya know, Chris Addison has appeared in season 8 as well!! :)

Exactly my point. My guess is he just lost count and then simply stared again from 900, out of vanity perhaps. More crackpot theories include: Since the John Hurt incarnation seems to come between 8 and 9 and 9 would actually be the first one to claim he was only 900, maybe that is just his, Nine's age after he took up the name of "The Doctor" again.

Funny you should mention that. Douglas Adams wrote several of the classic episodes, and "Life, the Universe, and Everything" is actually based on a story idea that was rejected for Who.

Correct! However, this did not happen in the main continuity, so Iegingermuppet's claim that this never happened on the show is still valid. A Big Finish Audio Drama also has an alternate Doctor regenerate into a female form ("Exile"). A funny bit of trivia: Richard E. Grant, the new vessel for the Great Intelligence, was also in that sketch ("Curse of Fatal Death") as an alternate 10th Doctor. He also went on to star as the "Shalka Doctor" - So he's had 3 different roles on DW as of now.

The next series ages the Doctor further, with A Town Called Mercy establishing that he is now approximately 1,200 years old. However, in "The Bells of Saint John", the Doctor says that he was "one thousand years old", whilst in "Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS" commenting that he had piloted the TARDIS "for over 900 years". (doctor who wikipedia page the 3 last sentences in the chapter age) just so you know. i know its timey wimey wibbly wobbly, and not even the doctor knows his age. :)

in "A Town Called Mercy", he says: "I've matured. I'm 1200 years old now". But there is inconsistency in what he says and it's fair to assume that he's lost count and simply isn't sure exactly of how old he is.

actually tyler in the classic series it was hinted that he was already 700 during his third incarnation and i think the 7th said he was over 1000 years old. SO really no-one knows his age. Besides from the new series he says he is 1200, so actually he got it pretty right.
