Perspective feels more theoretical than practical? Then this is the video for you. A very practical 3 steps for perspective when drawing freehand in ink is not just outlined, but it's also demonstrated with the thumbnail drawing. The reference photo can be found on the channel Community Page so why not watch the video and then have a go drawing it yourself.

This is the best explanation I've seen for a subject that I've really struggled with

Succinct: not too much and not too little. Both the drawing and the commentary delivered the same message to that same beat. A miniature treat!

I love how there is a mistake in the perspective and you use it as a teaching point instead of deleting the video and starting over, like I would have done. It’s both proof of your teaching skill and humble heart. Thank you.

A few times I have started again if I think the error has compromised the purpose of the video, but usually it becomes part of the lesson because we need to learn how to respond to things not going as planned. Fortunately, I’ve reached the stage in my life where I don’t need to be perfect. Wish I’d done it decades ago!🤣

I have real trouble with breaking down the steps, as you demonstrated. I've never been a good 3D thinker, and I suspect my dyslexia adds to the difficulty. Thank you for explaining this so well. The eye-level thing and your use of the strip of paper to highlight the angles is a massive help. I'm saving this to my watercolor playlist so I can re-watch often. I will be practicing. Thanks a ton!

Sometimes I deliberately leave them out, but this time, I didn’t even notice them, I’m afraid. 😀

It’s hard for me to guess what would be helpful. I suggest you look through my content and playlists and choose what looks most relevant for what and how you want your draw. 😀
