Just a warning to anyone using a phone without a carrier. I have a Motorola Power G that I purchased unlocked and without a carrier, so I wasn't sure what factory image to download. I found an image for a carrier matching my exact factory image ID, and so went with that. Everything was successful, but after flashing, my device is now in a soft brick status. The device boots, but the screen is unresponsive to touch. I did a complete wipe and factory reset and that appeared to work but the device is still unresponsive to touch. Just a warning, may not want to try this unless your phone was actually purchased from a carrier.
I have same phone . Moto g 5g 2024 and It's unlocked no carrier It's uses the fogos board. Anyways Motorola has software to fix it and they give you the stock image and what not . Motorola software fix off there website and click rescue
Good video, but not perfect. + works perfectly fine + everything nessessary explained in a very short video - Some video footage could be sharper. (But you have important code in description) - some cuts where to abruptly, so i needed to what some steps two times But overall probably the best video on YT. Maybe a small conecpt-map at the beginning would have been nice, so you know, what to expect. :)
Hi, I need help to install patch boot image. I used the command that you provide to flash, but it's not flashing it's says preflash validation failed. Remote failure. Note: I did rename the path file name boot.img. please help me..
Two things for clarity: 1.) Procedure: If the phone is carrier unlocked already, we can skip to the "root" procedure. Correct? 2) Image identification: If the phone is originally a Tracfone and I'm using T-Mobile as a carrier, do we flash with a T-Mobile (current carrier) image or TracFone (original carrier). My assumption is current carrier. Thank you for this incredibly detailed guide!
(bootloader) Failed to get unlock data. 4:06 please can you solve this problem when i entered this command " fastboot oem get_unlock_data" it returned an error "failed to get unlock data"
You can't get past there if it's been less than 180 days since the phone was initially activated on MetroPCS. Maybe it's different for other carriers. I looked all over on xda developers and other places. In fact most of us had to manually put the phone in fastboot mode.
@@stuartlaw7528 i got that too but i went into bootloader manually (turn it off then press volume down + power) then plugged it to the computer and it worked it recognized the device
I would like to see some instructions on a Moto Z4 by Verizon how we unlock the bootloader since currently Motorola is not allowing us to do it running on Android 10
please make a video showing how to get those bonuses after rooting successfully! it was alot of work but i successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted my Motorola G Play 2024 Android 13 device, and i even did it when the motorola website said my device was notable to have my bootl.oader unlocked!! great video, but now that im rooted im not sure how to go about getting those cool things you talked about at the end! Thanks for the help Abe. Cheers.
my question is at what step the phone becomes network unlocked. i got the code, i get the connection, when i launch mtkclient, it keeps having these directory errors. also, which specific script is the one that just sim/network unlock
Unlocking and flashing the firmware to get root access are separate parts of the process and both require quite a bit of knowledge to achieve. You should def make a video about the different variables with unlocking a device. It's easy, but people spend tons of hours just to finally learn that their model isn't unlockable for whatever reason. The main one being that carriers don't want you to have access to the USB tethering feature
I have a moto g7 power 2021 which is hard bricked. shows flashing locked, when I try to unlock flashing, it says enable oem unlock in developer settings, which I cant acces. Please help me.. this is my only phone, how do I unlock it?
Can you do this on a chromebook. I hope this is not a silly question. I've just tried to translate it to my Chromebook in terms of the downloads 🎉and language etc and I'm just not exactly knowledgeable enough to quite get it. Thanks for any info, again sorry if it seems like a duh question to some.
can i use this method to eventually unlock my phone from its carrier. i dont know the exact software, or files used by the carrier to lock a device to their network, but will this give me the ability to get rid of those packages?
And I've already tried that that doesn't work they won't send me the code but on the other hand I can't get to the unlock screen if I had a valid code can't get a valid code from Motorola so now what do we do
I'm able to run 'reboot fastboot' and the device(Moto G Power 5G 2024, Android 14) executes properly, but from the device I have to manually tell it to reboot to bootloader and from there neither the computer nor the device detects each other(Ran ADB devices to confirm). I've tried three separate USB-C cables(OEM cable, A data cable for an external NVME drive bay, and a USB-C to USB-A cable) and none of them detect. Kinda at a loss figuring out if there's another security switch preventing the connection. Any help is welcome!
yea I was doin all kinds of weird stuff for hours. Finally, I found that I had to update my windows driver for android usb. I went to windows update and clicked view optionial updates while my phone was plugged in ( it showed something like motorola android usb update). next I physically rebooted my phone in fastboot (restart, then hold the down arrow and the power button until the boot screen appears). At that point I again entered " ./fastboot oem get_unlcock_data" and it worked.
The commands onward are not "adb". They are "fastboot". Yes, I know its hard to see. I ran into this problem when I attempted rooting last year. Fastboot, not ADB.
I made a post but it didn't show up; I was able to successfully root my device several weeks ago. Make sure that the machine you're running powershell/terminal from actually has the OEM drivers FOR YOUR PHONE. Otherwise, the computer won't see the device properly, and you wont be able to send commands to it.
@@supera244 Everything the video details is relevant to getting any Moto phone rooted, just make sure your computer that you're running the adb commands from has the drivers for your phone locally installed. otherwise, it won't detect the phone while it's in the bootloader.
I had a Verizon SIM plugged in immediately(Phone is unlocked by Default). I don't know how long I waited, but the phone died somewhere over the course of the month after ejecting the sim, and the switch ungreyed. So, just try letting it sit without a sim for a bit?
After 14 days it was available to click oem toggle, but Motorola says not eligible, I'll wait a while and check again. While I wait I'll explore alternative methods.
OK, it's been little over a month, going to check the Motorola website again, if still no, I'll contact support and find out why, as well as explore alt methods / work arounds

Why i need firmware and flashing my phone again with software since i had the latest software ? All i need is Root validity and an app to install it . Maybe need to install some recovery .
Dude! Thank you! Those websites took some navigating to figure out and find the correct software but after a couple of headaches everything worked smooth as butter! Definitely subscribing. 🤙
worked with a bit of problems because I haven't used a computer in a while, but fixed them with some help from the comments and some I just fixed by myself, thank you!
(bootloader) Check 'OEM unlocking' in Android Settings > Developer (bootloader) Options FAILED (remote: '') fastboot: error: Command failed menu devloppeur no possible activate OEM ,solution for me please ?
It SHOULD be RETUS (if in the us anyway) or another RET variant if you're somewhere else in the world. I just finished rooting my Stylus '24 with this method and using RETUS, I bought it new from Amazon during Prime Day. Good luck. 🤙
hey dude!! been following ur procedures and it works like charm.thanks for that... but heres a situation i am currently using moto g72 running android 13 it has google dialer ..but it only shows limited call logs of about 500 ..i want call logs like xiaomi which is practically unlimited..is there any module or modification?? kindly help sorting this out.
What if that doesn't work now what do you do and that's my beef from day one that doesn't work not an older devices like this Moto z 4 by Verizon so it's got to be another way to do this
1. First, remove root access from your device. 2. Flash the device with the stock firmware. 3. Enter ADB mode and type the following command: `fastboot flashing relock`. ⚠️ **Warning:** Do not relock the bootloader before removing root access. Doing so may hard brick your device, with only a 2% chance of recovery. ⚠️
when i entered this command "fastboot oem get_unlock_data" it give me an error so how to get this work plus my device after a bootloader it no longer display my phone if is connected or not if using same command ./adb devices

I'm not smart with this stuff at all. Even seeing the step by step still confuses me. I wish I could just had you my phone to root. I just got a moto g (2024) and I don't like it at all.
if you already have you phone and computer setup - you can start at 3m30s of this video, otherwise start from the beginning. Some US carriers prevent bootloader unlock, in that case try the tips shown at 2:02 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h3S6smMDFbk.html&lc=Ugw0VRl-fNtTwzPhzeh4AaABAg&t=3m33s
@@abeatech after i input boot fastboot, i go to input next part, requesting the oem unlock and it says "adb.exe: unknown command fastboot", is there something wrong with the device? I am trying to root and unlock this device, but I was told from the person who asked me to do this for them that they had attempted to use magisk (sp?) through their cellphone prior and had some difficulty understanding what was being asked, and so they had retried it a few times, before getting something to partially seem to work, before they got frustrated and handed me the phone, is there a solution?
