Unlock the Pelvis with Pelvic Mobilization
The pelvis is a remarkable structure that plays a crucial role in our overall movement and stability. It consists of the two sacroiliac (SI) joints and the symphysis pubis, and when these joints are mobile and in harmony, the entire pelvis can move with ease. In this week's video, Erik Dalton introduces a transformative pelvic mobilization routine aimed at restoring the natural movement of these pelvic joints, allowing the three pelvic bones-the two pelvic bones and the sacrum-to glide freely and without restriction.
This holistic and non-specific routine is a game-changer for massage therapists and can be seamlessly incorporated into your massage treatments. By addressing the mobility of the pelvis as a whole, you create a solid foundation for optimal movement and function throughout the entire body.
Erik Dalton is widely regarded as one of the foremost innovators in the massage and bodywork profession. He has studied with some of the profession's leading thinkers, like Ida Rolf and famed osteopath Phillip Greenman. He is the developer of Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, a system of manual therapy that addresses and heals pain patterns at their very core. Armed with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between mind and body, structure and function, massage therapists who’ve studied Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques with Erik Dalton are changing the face of chronic pain the world over. We do have a directory of MAT trained practitioners and it keeps growing. Take a look and see if you can find someone local to your area: erikdalton.com/find-a-certified-therapist/ 🤓

Are there any contraindications for this technique? I have many clients that have had hip replacement surgery, is it safe for them?

I'm going to go to school for massage therapy but I'm very interested in musculofascial fascial stretching or assisted stretching. Any recommendations for (Canadian) education?

This looks a lot like physio not massage therapy (in Canada) ... Am I wrong?

Kinda, but more in line with assisted stretching. I talk about joints as landmarks yet the goal is to persuade the brain to release protective musculofascial guarding...thanks!

That's what I looked for! The way to mobilise pelvis of obese patient that is stuck in anterior rotation.
