I just watch the fisrt 5min of your videos and you're the first one to mention that the main purpose of a sunglasses is to protect the user from the sun: mind-blowing in this RU-vid ecosystem (or just logic in the real world). Thank you for staying grounded.

I appreciate the comment! I just have a few friends interested in the smart glasses but they have no need for sun glasses or don't like using them, then buying this expensive toy is a waste.

@@elJong exactly, you're paying for a sunglasses with additional features, not a camera in a form of a sunglasses. I'm a tech enthusiast and I work in the optical field for 10 years now and it's striking me how all RU-vidrs present and review them and forgot what they are primarily at their core. I planned to do a review myself but didn't get the chance to record it yet, you beat me on that. My video will be in French though, so no competition 😅 And for your friend why don't you tell them to put clear lenses or prescription ones? Sure it will always look bulky since they're sunglasses but this it what I'll do myself. I wear eyeglasses daily.

@@drifttoyz1239 I will make sure to give it a view as well! And this is a gadget I bought myself and I'm not a big RU-vidr I'm not getting test units so for me every dollar counts! It needs to satisfy the main use first before the other features!

I have a prescription lens in mine , and they are comfortable enough to wear all day . One of the most important features i love is being able to take a conference call via MS teams or Zoom, and have the audio from my pc come through my glasses is soooo convenient.

Yes! I might actually do a 30-day followup video to this one. I love that when I don't have my AirPods on, the glasses can announce my calls and even readout my texts!

@@juanpereztattoo7781 I personally did not, but the Ray-Ban website says you can have the lenses replaced by certified opticians if their listed prescriptions is not available!

@@juanpereztattoo7781 they actually sell them at my local optician “lens Crafters” . They ordered them right there on the spot , it took 7days for them them come in .

@@juanpereztattoo7781 I personally did not, but if your prescription is not listed in the RayBan website, there are certified technicians/places that can do it. Not all glass thickness can be accommodated by the frames.

Custom transitions are $400, Boom! got the blue see through ones with green transitions, I pend 300 on polarized okeleys/earbuds/etc. Steth audio that nice is worth it if you work a job... like an office job.

How did the transition lenses go when you were outside? How did the darkness compare with regular sunglasses?

Have some samples in the video but overall, it'll take around 5 minutes to get to its full shade and though it will never be as dark as regular sunglasses it's still dark enough even in brightest sunlight.

Yeah, unfortunately, very limited in the styles, it'll just be the Classic Wayfarers and the Headliners. But solid choices still!

When in an extremely quiet room and you put the glasses on full volume, there may be some sound leaks, but not extremely bad.

One thing I noticed is the Bluetooth, when I'm talking using Bluetooth, it's only about 4-5 minutes then it will switch to the phone then what I did was press the Bluetooth icon to switch back to the glasses. Check that out if you experience the same thing.

Initially I had some connection issues. Then I updated the firmware and reconnected everything through the app -- phone, WhatsApp and messenger. Now everything is extremely stable. I used it on a one hour call once, no problem!

I absolutely love them. They aren't the darkest lenses, but works well in direct sun. And the clear is good indoors so you can wear these anywhere.

@@Evhell95 I'm not sure about the prescriptions' additional dollars when you get the glasses. I'm assuming they are standard. But not all prescription grades can use the frame.

The batteries are integrated so it probably can only be replaced by the manufacturer themselves.

Fun fact the reason your voice doesn't come through so good with your recording is the voice mic is being blocked by your nose. They are going to release an update this month to fix this to provide better recording of your voice and for voice calls. Until then get some nose pads and retake that video, it will come through MUCH better or just hold them away from your nose.

Unfortunately no. The aspect ratio is vertical 1440px, but you always crop in post. It won't be great though!

I've not fully tested out all voice apps since the only sure way is to connect it onto your phone through the Meta Smart Glasses app. Calls though it's actually really good. The mics imbedded in the glasses seem clearer than when you use AirPods for calling.

No. If you try to cover the light, you won't be able to record/take photos. They are called 'honesty lights'.

Yes, ethically documenting a subject is an important topic.The indicator light does help a bit, when it's covered it won't capture anything, but nothing beats human decency and common sense as well.
