Unlock, Turn off BitLocker ENCRYPTED Drive WITHOUT a RECOVERY KEY in 1 Minute

If you've forgotten your Windows login password and your bootable C drive is encrypted by BitLocker without a readily available recovery key, renaming files in the System32 folder is impossible. This tutorial offers an alternative solution.
How to find a Bootable Drive?
diskpart
list volume
or
bcdedit
Click on the command prompt, and Run As Administrator
Type the following command:
manage-bde -unlock D: -Password
Enter the password to unlock this volume:
or
manage-bde -unlock D: -pw
Enter the password to unlock this volume:
manage-bde -off D:
manage-bde -status D:
Note: D is the bootable drive in this case.
An error occurred (code 0x80070057) due to Windows RE status was disabled
To address this issue, we can type this command reagentc /enable

The command prompt option was not accessible because it required a password. To fix this problem, you will need to use a bootable Windows 10 or 11 USB drive.

To prevent Windows Home from asking for the BitLocker key during startup, you can disable Secure Boot, TPM and Intel Platform Trust technology (PTT).

If you have the password why you need the recocery key? You can just unlock it with the PW and go and have a look what the Recovery Code is...

while attempting to remove bitlocker encryption from my external hdd of 1tb, which was taking huge time and when it has completed 50% I had to leave that system due to time boundation. Now that system is not accessible. And when I attempt to continue that external disk in another system it shows: "error recovering disk G: A recovery key was not found on this drive. The drive can't be unlocked." Kindly if anyone has solution, plz help to unlock or remove the bitlocker encryption.

When I get to opening the prompt window it doesn’t go to prompt. It’s another blue window that asks for recovery key ID or Skip this drive. I skipped just to see what happens. It opened the prompt but the drives look to small to load windows. So I’m guessing it’s the drive I skipped?

He’s not referring to the normal password to unlock windows. Rather one of the two bitlocker passwords. For this tutorial to work u must know the one that you created, while the other password(recovery password made up of just numbers) can be ignored.

I’m trying to follow this this guide. But I’m getting confused one the part of what to type in the “command prompt’ portion. My mother gave me this laptop. She gave me the pin to the computer.. Hi Ashwin Method 1 Step 1 In Bios Go to boot options, and then select secure boot to disable . You save it and exit Bios. Step 2 In Bios Go to boot options again, change secure boot to enabled , clear all secure boot keys, remember to load your PC factory default . You save it and exit Bios Start windows normally Method 2 Uninstall all updates through Windows Recovery Options Method 3 Perform " System Restore point" if you have had a backup available in Windows Recovery Options. one more thing once you do this , you need to login to your pc /laptop and turn off bit locker option. because if you dont it will come back upon reboot , and you will have to do it all over again.

The Shift key isn't working. It seems like you might need a bootable Windows 10 or Windows 11 installation to get into the Recovery Environment and proceed the next step.
