In this video, we're diving into the 2nd part of a strategy to jumpstart your growth based on John C. Maxwell's 90-day improvement plan.
The key to growth involves self-awareness, aligning passions with actions, and actively engaging in a continuous process of reflection and action.
We discuss here some of the essential steps for personal and professional growth. We emphasize the importance of knowing oneself, including one’s strengths, weaknesses, interests, and opportunities. Reflecting on past experiences and current situations is crucial to setting a clear path for future growth. Building on new knowledge incrementally helps maintain momentum and improvement.
A significant issue is that many people are unsure of their passions and remain unfocused. To address this, individuals should pay close attention to what they enjoy and their current job satisfaction. If a job is unsatisfying, it’s worth examining why and considering the risks and rewards of pursuing something more aligned with one’s interests. The text acknowledges that changing paths involves risks, but staying in an unfulfilling job can lead to regret and missed potential.
To determine if one’s desires align with their abilities, the text suggests asking three questions: the difference between what one wants and what they are good at, what drives satisfaction, and how personal values align with organizational values. Answering these questions helps identify obstacles and assess the possibility of overcoming them. It’s also important to understand why one wants to pursue certain goals, as doing things for the right reasons, such as positively impacting others, provides inner strength and clarity.
The journey from the current state to desired goals begins with awareness. This involves contemplating where one is headed and, if it’s not the desired direction, outlining the necessary steps to achieve one’s goals. Action is essential; without starting, progress is impossible. Accountability is also highlighted; having someone to track progress can be motivating. Writing down actionable steps in areas like finance, health, and career helps in tracking improvement.
And finally, growth attracts like-minded individuals, leading to the creation of a supportive community. This community can be instrumental in helping you succeed.
