Unlocking Lake Martin

With a coastline longer than California's, Alabama's Lake Martin looked like an adventurer's dream. Islands you can camp on (one populated by goats), miles of hiking trails, rock diving, perhaps thousands of coves for fishing - it's a seriously beautiful place. The downside is that it's shores are mostly private property which threw a wrench in our big plans so we had to wing it.

Wow, gorgeous place! Bummer that the original water adventure didn't go as planned, but everything turned out in the end. Good save. (I can relate to the back pain - wishing speedy healing to Jason!)

Starting to regret not at least trying to walk up the tower! The nap on the hill was nice though.

Lots of pros and cons here, but all in all it looked like a lovely adventure. I can see where a man powered vessel could get hard, but on the other hand a small noisy motorboat don't sound great either. However you slice it, it appeared to be a great hiking adventure. Wishing all the beat for Jason's back problems. I'm sure he'll be back a it soon. PS: I doubt that I could have climbed that tower but would like to give it a try. Mighty fine video!

Thanks Gary. I think I'll be coming back to Lake Martin. Those jumping rocks are calling me.
