Benefits of Meditation
Hi I’m Sanya. In this video I will be sharing the benefits of meditation as per my own experience of last 3.5 years of doing it. I have divided this video into two parts - 1 material benefits of Meditation and 2- spiritual benefits of Meditation
So let’s talk about spiritual benefits first.
1. You Start connecting to your inner voice more which eventually guides you towards the purpose of your life. I’ve observed in my life that if something is not aligned to my purpose, I kind of start hearing clear voices inside my head or some indications from external sources that I need to adjust around me to be on the right path . For example, I’ve been thinking about not pursuing my job since a very long time, but I was never able to take this action due to a lack of clear purpose in life. But after these years of meditation, I’ve come to a point where I’m running this RU-vid channel which I didn’t even envisage before and it feels extremely fulfilling to me. I have finally quit my job without any backup and I do have a lot of faith that it will turn out just fine for me.
2. You start interacting with the energies around you. This is not something that I used to do before. I kind of was in my head, most of the times that I lost touch of the outside world. And I now feel more connected to the people , even the objects and I have started treating everything around me with love and more patience. I have started respecting even the littlest of the things in my life.
3. I’ve become more intentional in choosing where I will be investing my energy throughout the day.
4. I am not rushing in life anymore. I have started to appreciate flow state more and let it overtake instead of trying hard to do the things just for the sake of accomplishing them. I do make efforts but I do it more intuitively by keeping myself harmonious from within. Although this is not every time the case as I am still learning.
5. I have developed deep faith. I know eventually everything will fall where it has to, we are mere instruments in the hands of the higher power and the more we surrender to him, the more we are guided. So I don’t try to control anyone or anything around me instead I just take charge of my own actions and if the things don’t turn out fine according to me, I just know that my definition of what’s good, is just too small in front of God’s plan. There’s always something to learn from every bad situation and that’s what we need to focus upon.
6. I have started taking responsibility and learn from my own mistakes. I do make a lot of mistakes everyday but I don’t get disturbed by them anymore. I just respond to them differently. I pick one thing that I didn’t like about myself in that day and try to change it and make sure I don’t repeat it again.
7. There are no self doubts anymore. I feel more confident and I feel alive. I have become joyful in life.
Material Benefits of Meditation -
1. Relationships improve as you understand and love others selflessly and with higher understanding
2. I have become more efficient in managing my emotions
3. My health has improved multi-folds.
4. I don’t feel lonely anymore. There is no stress or anxiety.
5. Not addicted to any bad habits.
6. I am seeing that now I am totally able to implement the my plan for the day in an effective way without getting distressed about the workload.
7. I am able to also guide others and have more empathy than before.
There’s more to benefits of meditation :
Psychologically speaking, there have been a lot of experiments which suggests that gamma frequency waves are generated from the minds of people who meditate.
Grey matter is increased in the pre frontal cortex which helps you accomplish the task at hand and makes you successful in life.
