This is the first of a series of videos on the topic of 2 stroke engine ports that you need to know if you are intending to modify your engine.
The first 3 videos will cover simple mapping of the exhaust port and transferring that in to 2T Exhaust Calc software for the purpose of Expansion chamber exhaust calculations.
Download it here birdcagesoft.com
Go to the 2T Exhaust Calc menu item

I need to watch and memorize every second of all videos AuM does - this is the kind of deep knowledge I always wanted RU-vid to be - amazing.

Thank's for the comment Itll take a few videos to cover it all but it should shed a bit of light on the topic and shows that it is not just a matter of taking to them with a die grinder and there is some means to deciding exactly what changes to make when modifying them with a bit of certainty rather then just trial and error methods.

I would love to hear more on the specific time areas and blowdownl areas. Now I know how to go about the calculations but the thing is I just dont know what STA-s to shoot for for a specific application. I know Frits Overmars suggests to shoot for aprillia rsa 125 STA targets but arent those targets ment for very high reving engines with the max powerband way up high in the rpm range. What would the STA-s be for a more mild tune ?

Have you looked at the influence of increased blow down versus power with no change in exhaust timing or pipe? As the engine is bored out, the inclined boost and transfer ports are lowered WRT the exhaust. I am wondering if we should raise the cylinder> increase exhaust duration or leave it as it was prior to boring and what the effect will be.

I have a 100 CC 2 stroke engine and I rebuilt that engine and it is performing fine but it is drinking a lot of fuel, probably I am getting fuel economy of 10 km per L and my engine makes only 8 HP, so what is the problem
@AuMechanic
@AuMechanic 4 года назад
Id say your carby is way too rich for some reason, maybe check the float level for starters, it is hard to say without seeing it. Excess fuel consumption can be several causes.
