Yes you are correct these songs were written in a way to be able to play them both ways. They came about after Shiren read a newspaper article about a Swiss company was turning the ashes of people that had been cremated in to diamonds, which is what Cadaver is about. Then Revadac is about someone that missed the person, who's ashes are now a diamond, so much that they wanted to bring them back to life from the diamond. The drums and the vocals are different in the songs, but all the others are reversed. The thing that mess's with your head is that also in the video there are reversed parts and parts from the 1st song in the 2nd and the other way around. Something you don't see the on Cadaver the 1st time, but because your brain is aware there is something different going on, you notice it in Revadac. After a while you'll notice it in both. Why did they do it? Well they knew they could, and no one else had done it, and thought it would be fun. I thought it was a good gimmick for a video, then I saw them do it live and you realise that it's not a gimmick, but pure skill. One of the reasons why other bands do not do this is, firstly it's had to write. Next is when bands play songs (esp at the speed UM go at) they play a lot by muscle memory, and it's very hard to be able to play a song one way then try and play it the other, as your muscles want to play it the original way. As you said, the lyrics are different but the note held is in reverse. So it makes sense but in a way the vocal instrument is still being played in reverse as only word itself has changed and the tone is in reverse. So instrumentally, only the drums have changed to make the song work when going backward.

It gives a good idea of how close the two songs are to each other backwards. You'll notice that except for the drums, and the vocals being obviously reversed, it sounds almost the same as the original one. About the lyrics matching/not matching her mouth. The video itself is reversed. But there are definitely parts where what she's singing doesn't match the video. That's because in those parts, it's the lyrics of the other song backwards. When it doesn't match in Cadaver, go to that same part in Revadac, it will match up... and vice versa. You can also see in parts of both videos their hair is moving before their heads do. Those parts are reversed also. So it isn't like each half goes one direction and then it flips. It's going both ways in both videos. Maximus gave a great description. The meanings are kind of opposite also.

I think this technique would work really well with a song that progresses dramatically from start to end. Consider the ancient Styx song "Lady." It starts with vocals over piano, and it continues in that style, for the first 70 seconds. It then bursts into a soaring rock song and stays there until the end of its 3-minute runtime. Something like that work work nicely, to reverse, because you'd get this clear feeling that you'd taken a journey and come home. ... Interesting band. I should hear more of them.

After NEMOPHILA they are really my second preferate Japanese Metal Band. And Fuki's voice is amazing. I mean they are all amazing, hard to pick who you want to isolate if you had to choose who to listen. To me, that's truely the best part in those Japanese bands. So much talent all over the place. When it changes to revadac the sheet music is moving backwards

They did this live, but that version has disappeared from RU-vid. However, you can Google a version on Facebook that's still up, and it's even more impressive live. As you said, it's literally the same song played forward and backwards. The video is actually more like the movie momento, with parts taken from the beginning and end both spliced together through both songs, but done so that it's hard to tell. The one real difference is the like backup Choir chanting stuff in revadac that's no where in cadaver.

you can try it out yourself. just reverse the audio in software. it sounds almost the same. 😅🤟 that's some solid mindfakk of a track! 😎
