Unmaad is the story of a boy named Abhay, who was so terribly hurt by reality, that he chose to forsake it. Suffering from dissociative absorptive disorder, he finds respite in the world of cinema and music, in stories and songs.
The play itself is a captivating journey through Abhay's mind, and his separation from his own empirical existence. Various theatrical tools come together in a staggering display of the world that he creates for himself when the world he was born in disappoints him.
The boundaries between imagination and reality begin to blur when a pivotal scene unfolds: Abhay's encounter with a psychiatrist. This revelation shatters the illusion, exposing the stark truth of Abhay's condition. The psychiatrist's presence serves as a jolting wake-up call, grounding the narrative in the harsh light of reality.
