I will explore this more in my Green Lantern video, and another one I am working on discussing Mcfarlane Toys in general, but I think what it boils down to is that while there might be some small bleed over, in general action figure collectors and NFT collectors are two separate speculator markets with very different interests. I don't see a lot of people even bothering to check out the Digital collectables that come with the figures, no less get into them. BUT with DC Multiverse running as high as 22.99, a couple extra bucks for more accessories is value I can be okay with.
I’m not into digital either. If those digital figures could be used as skins in any video game I think gamers would be interested. A friends wife is 8th Pokémon cards to buy and sell at profit, sort of like stocks or nfts so there may be some market for the digital, but not regular collectors.
The "ever thought about growing a mullet" line is perfect because my buddies keep telling me to 😂 Todd being so out of the loop that he thinks NFT's are still a thing people care about is wild. Just give up on it.
Co-worker: “Well you know, seems like I accidentally ate your steak and Swiss cheese sandwich, again….” Worker: “That’s ok, I can sit and look at this digital rendering of it on my I-phone.” Said no worker, ever
I appreciate you commenting on the digital part. So far it seems people mostly either don't like it or are just ambivalent to it, so it's good to hear from someone who enjoys it.
Despite not being comic accurate, I really love the blue they used for this version of Rebirth Batman. Really like both the new masked headsculpt (big improvement over the old one!) and the unmasked Bruce Wayne head. I especially love how the unmasked head looks on the Knightfall body. Just perfect!
If anyone's curious, there is a gold label unmasked variant for Zur en Arrh. Its more of a angry teeth gritted expression but having different expressions may interest some of you.
Cool vid! I’m kinda on the fence just because I’m don’t really like the new Batman head sculp, but I really like some of the head swaps you did, so I might get it
New to McFarlane here and just started with both the Batman figure from Batman vs Superman (Batfleck) and this figure and I love both. This figure being a bit smaller is a plus for me. Coming from 6 inch figures the McFarlane feel quite large. Great video! Used it as feedback prior to purchasing. :)
You were a little nicer to the digital than I would have been buuuuuuut ya know We all cant (or shouldn't) hate like me xD Also Arkham city bats was my fav.unmasked head swap fs
Thanks for the video! i love the figure, since I don't have the original. As for digital, i'm glad mcfarlane likes to take risks. I'm young so I see the future moving towards digital. If you don't want the digital code I'll take it. I see a lot of hate, but I'm of the opposite opinion. thanks again!
I know its a 12" scale but spin master released a blue rebirth Batman. I think a 3 3\4 scale version came with the batcave and one with an all yellow batsymbol came with the glider thing.
Hey this might be a weird question but I'm starting work on a custom kitbash and repaint of Batman for my brother since I already have Superman, which Batman would be a good base for a Arkham based custom?
Mine should be coming in a few days. I never got the first one so don’t mind getting this repaint. I look forward to the alternative unmasked head, which I actually usually don’t like. It’s like when you’re a kid and finding out Santa isn’t real.
I really like how mcfarlane toys has started hiding the ball joints in the wrist and ankles. The newer looks are so much better than the older ones like the Batman who Laughs
I really wanted to see how the new batman head would have looked on the future state batman body. I'm sure it would have been cool, though. I definitely hope I can find this batman in stores soon.
I just found this Batman at my local Target along with the Detective Comics Number 27 Batman, and I am in love with these Batmen. And also the head swap with future State Batman, and if the mask was painted black, it would be awesome. And i also did a head swap with dark Knight's death metal Batman, and the head swap between those two was amazing.
I ordered this blue variant of the rebirth figure and it’s nothing like the colors as advertised. It has more of a Batman hush mafex blue than the glossy royal blue I was hoping for… did they release different versions of the same color or something??
Glad I decided to pass on this Batman. He looks so small compared to other Batman figures. Even Knightfall and BVS are taller than that and they’re not even that tall compared to others.
Duuuuuude I was lying down for the night when I saw this comment and legit had to get up and try it. YES! Meaning that the upcoming black and gray will swap with the black and grey Rebirth as well. I will take pics tomorrow and post on the 5POA Instagram
11:10 man why didn't McFarlane give batman that head sculpt or at least gave the black variant that head, I don't know if its worth the $45 dollars to make that combo.
McFarlane is one of those companies where they'll ether release the best figure or do one thing that messes up the whole figure, I wish McFarlane was more consistent.
A 3D digital model of a figure that you keep in a digital showroom. There collector value comes from only a limited number of access codes being made. Pretty much an NFT
