UNNERVED: Strange Sky Phenomenon in Yorkshire Dales' Austwick Village

We went to The Dalesbridge Campsite and Cabins in Austwick in the Yorkshire Dales National Park to see if we could get a photo of the Northern Lights. After waiting what seemed like forever we got a shot of something else.

Stunning campsite guys. Loved the bar area. Our little border terrier loves a pub. Amazing how she sniffs one out and pulls us both in 🤷🏼‍♂️ Thanks for tekkin us up the erratics 😂. Looked like hard work 🥴

The last time I managed to get a sight of the northern lights was on a weekend in Blackpool in October. I suffered from hay-fever for a number of years and found that sticking a vics inhaler up each nostril did the trick, but I did get a few strange looks shopping in Asda 😊

Fantastic video, great humour throughout. Settle looks like a great place to escape to. Nice footage of the lighting, it certainly made up for you missing the northern lights…. I suffered with hay-fever it started out of the blue but I started taking local honey in my coffee a few years ago and I do not suffer at all now. Supermarket honey is no good it has to be local and you build up your immunity to the local pollen

The owner had lots of facts, you only asked him one question and then he wouldn't shut up. I liked them Chocolate Hey Claires at the cafe. Dora seems very keen to get to the pub - has she been missing her AA meetings? The weather forecasters are making it up in our country - severe thunderstorms, flooding, heaving rain, gail force winds and on the day we get a few showers. If it's any consolation we missed the Northern lights when we were in Ullapool, we saw the photos later that morning, they were fantastic. The light show was around 3 am, we slept through the whole thing. Tim, Jane & Archie.

@@Stchristopherofatlantis We are all good thanks. At the moment we are dog sitting, we have Sylvia - Rose who is an English Setter born in France? She belongs to friends who have relocated back to England from France, they are away for just the one night & we have Percy who is a Springer spaniel, he is our son's dog, they have gone to Turkey for a week's holiday. So you can imagine we are restricted somewhat. Although it's quite rural where we live so no problems for dog walking!

If I was you two , just say Northern Lights , it’s bloody easier 🤣 Really annoying as I work nights so awake all night and missed the dam things 🤬Been to Scotland before and following week they appeared and visited Keswick ( not that far from us ) and the next day they appeared 😩, beginning to sound like an Alanis Morissette record 🤣. Managed to get away to Northumberland for a couple of days , day at coast then Cragside , nr Rothbury , amazing place , highly recommend. Enjoy your week x

Sunglasses to reduce glare that triggered hay fever 😂😂😂😂 that’s exactly what that told me Andrew in the 70s then gave me tiny blue pills to sedate me ! Didn’t work as they didn’t know anything about hay fever till the 90s and 2000s 🤣

Ahh hay-fever My grandad was a gamekeeper and taught me about plants n at. It hurts for about 2 minutes. Nettle your right palm ( you don't get a rash on your palm) or left if left handed and no more hay-fever. Do this at the start of the season and it keeps working. Bunged up nose? Streaming eyes? Watery etc. Nettle yourself and it stops. Ask the wife, we've been married ever since that first may. True story. Tricks the immune system. Pow!!! And the allergy is gone...goodbye sneezy

Bloody northern lights, ive been desperate to see them for years but fell asleep! sorry you didnt get to see the aurarararar barry lights either :( and awnings... bloody awnings! £700 it cost for Barbarellas awning and it didnt even come with brackets for that, that was a further £50! and turns out you get one! I had to buy another 2! its been a hard weekend in yorkshire, im too tight for this :( I need some rum too! ranty ranty rant rant :P

Went to this site it was awful. Hundreds of people and about 3 toilets. Pizza has to ordered online and if you don't order it early you don't stand a chance. Good site for kids doing their D of E otherwise I wouldn't bother. Disappointed 😢

We’ve driven past Dalesbridge a coupe of times in the past few weeks and noted it - Pizzas looked great! looks like much more to see when you are in and great to hear about the history of the place . We missed them as well. They were over our house. We spent the night in Cheshire in The Chilli Pod as part of our onward journey to Glastonbury. We woke up to loads of notifications on our phone.

I liked it so much I got a plot of land just a few miles away from Austwick to use as a base. I live full time in my van but you really need a place to go back to and I love it here.

@@Stchristopherofatlantis I have been a full timer for over 5 years and wouldn't change back to a house. I have been extremely ill over last few years but I still carry on with this life. I am retired so my pensons help of course and I can roam freely when ever I choose. I have never been happier.
