Lovely to see such a talented family. Conversations were in Malayalam and songs in Tamil. As a Tamil born in Tamil Nadu raised in Sri Lanka and currently living in America, I was curious to know how close many languages are. Malayalam has many Tamil words and this is what I found in Wikipedia: "The closest relative of Tamil is Malayalam. Until the 9th century, Malayalam was a dialect of Tamil. Later these two developed as separate languages, and the process of separation was completed sometime in 14th century. The Tamil language and its literature are as old as literature of the Sanskrit language." I am a fan of Uthara and have heard her sing many songs in Tamil. What took my breath away was when she was ale to blend a carnatic song with a Michael Jackson hit 'Billie Jean' with classic ease. Now that is a rare skill! Kudos Uthara..,!

Actually, unnikrishnan himself seems to be more comfortable speaking Tamil than Malayalam.. But anyway what is the difference.. I dont need sub titles for Malayalam movies/songs.

Unnikrishnanattan, Uthara's style of rendering is very special. It seems to me the best prettiest and kindest rendering and it is natural and coming from the " Guruparambara". That innocence is remarkable and innocence is a beautiful natural quality. Once Unnikrishnanattan came to Vadakara and that programme in town hall was unique and even now Iam remembering it.
