I could be wrong, but given that it's a real analogue synth, the pitch problem was from not letting it calibrate (the routine runs on start; see display) and warm up.
Just curious how you like it after a year ? I still am on the fence not because of the sound which is very good but some issues some have encountered. Thanks
Forgive me if i missed it, but how did you like the sequencing capabilies of this? Are they quite limited? Does it do patrern chaining or at least smoothly transition between presaved sequences?
It's difficult to compare two totally different sound generating systems like these, as they both have their strengths. The Freak has a very digital oscillator which can produce some amazing sounds and noises, while the USP can do fat analogue sounds with really nice effects to enhance that warmth. They would complement each other in a system, so you'll have to buy both 😳
@@SoundMusicAus Cheers man. I ended up getting the Freak. It can churn out some fantastic sounds, but it's sounds quite dry. With some effects (i use a ZOOM MS-50G pedal) it takes it to whole new level.
What stands out to be on this is the filters and the noise generation. My ears tell me those features may be close to the best in class for this niche of mini synths.
