At 55 years of age i decided to put together a 10 year retirement plan. Originally i was going to hustle and work 40-60 hours per week to retire at 60 years of age. Life is too short folks so the plan now is to work until i'm 65 years of age but work only 3 days a week (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday). I'am on year 3 of this plan and loving it. I don't let work consume my life. I'm enjoying my extra free time while i still have my health.

If I had a chance to start my life over, I'd plan to work hard until about 52, then plan to work 24 hours a week until 75. I think you're on the right track.

Having a much larger population and weak government policies enables a lot of bums to sit on their arse, dragging down our average, there's still plenty of us working 40-60 hour weeks 52 weeks out of the year.

As far as I know you get one life here on earth so you better make it a good one. Working more NEVER equates happiness, fulfillment, joy, or anything positive. Live, love, forgive, give, creates positivity so do more of that!

I think if you have good leadership the employees are rarely going to be asked to work extra hours. When the time comes they are gonna knock on the door and say hey boss we’ll have to stay a little extra today and tomorrow but we’ll get it out

The 69-hour work week was common in the US in the early twentieth century. Workers as young as 10 or 12 also worked those hours.

1900 a week is not bad. I am a teacher and my total contract hours alone total 1925 (work 7 AM to 4:15 PM for 210 days a year). EDIT: I work at a charter school, so it is more hours than a traditional public school.

I'm sure, totally coincidentally, my husband's three-year-old Samsung phone magically stopped working yesterday...until he turned it off and on again.
@TheyRiseBand
@TheyRiseBand Месяц назад
Very simple: sales are down because of poor economic conditions where the phones are sold. People are dead broke and are cutting back. They aren't paying to upgrade something that doesn't change much year to year.

I worked 60-80 hours per week, rotating across all 3 shifts, EVERY WEEK at my last job, making $$$$. I AGED! Eventually I just quit without even having another job because I was so burnt out. The company had me replaced before I could blink. As long as someone is willing to work the hours like I did, they will keep making people do it. Now I work less than 40 hours per week and I am so much happier. Money is NOT everything, but we are brainwashed in the USA to think it is. We see supposed millionaires on RU-vid all the time and we have FOMO, when we should have contentment with what we have.

Not all work is equally taxing, depends on the intensity level of the job. Absolutely no one is surviving 25 years of 70 hour work weeks at the pressure cookers of Big Tech, Big Pharma, Wall Street. If you own a business on the other hand 70 hours a week is something achievable.

@@davidsee3553 The funny part about America is according my paycheck I work plenty hard. Hope you get to retire soon and the “system” works for you to enjoy the rest of your life. It’s a naturally occurring Ponzi scheme where my generation can’t create a bigger layer below it (hence why we immigrate many people in to transfuse and keep the cycle on life support)
