Unparalleled Genius (Dr. Eggman vs Dr. Gero) [Sonic vs Dragon Ball] 

Hello everyone I commissioned this. Firstly, Thank you so much to Brandon for cooking a fire track, it literally sounds like a sonic adventure tune and I love it🔥. And of course RedRunner for the stella art for this for this battle of brains. 🧠 Eggman is one of my favourite Villains ever and I would love to see the interactions between these 2 talking about their genius and out smarting each other. I recommend giving the IDW Sonic comics a read as they are a lot of fun as well. Have a good day everyone 😊 Battle Scenario time: In west city the people are going about their daily lives when a rumbling can be heard in the distance. Soon, the Egg Fleet Arrives with Dr Eggman aboard the egg carrier. "Approaching target boss but do we really need to do another treasure hunt for 7 artifacts." "Quiet Cubot my research is exact, with these Dragon Balls I can finally crush that Hedgehog and Rule the World." Suddenly the Lights start flickering and a face appears on one of the screens. "Dr Eggman, its an honour to speak to a man with an intellect on par with my own. If we weren't after the same thing I'd welcome the opportunity to work together. However only one can claim the Dragon Balls and the Red Ribbon Army's will is absolute." As he says this the Red Ribbon Army gathers to stand off against the Egg Fleet. "Well Dr my understanding is your Army was defeated by a mere child. With my unmatched Genius, the Eggman Empire will crush you." "An Empire that requires animals to power them wheras we don't need such a thing and I belive this empire is bested by a hedgehog constantly." "Very well Let us see who is the one true Scientist Supreme Eggman Empire Attack."

*Don't Get too excited Gero, THAT WAS ONE OF THE EASY ONES.* Eggman

Just when Gero thinks he got the upper hand, Eggman will activate his deadliest weapon, HIS SUPER LASER PISS!

You know, Eggman is one of the ONLY main videogame villains that is also a regular boss. He doesn't usually just wait and hide in his base, waiting for the hero to come to him. He takes the fight to *them.* Respect Doctor Eggman.

I’d imagine that gero would chase down eggman when he’s defenseless, just for the omelette to somehow out run him and get to his nearest mech

Meanwhile, Sonic and Goku are in the background eating popcorn watching them fight.

Dr. Gero: My Androids will stop your pathetic machines. Dr. Eggman: HAHAHAHA! Don't make me laugh! You'll regret underestimate my machines

Mecha Sonic and Cooler: I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!

As cool as the two doctors fighting is, I feel like they would cooperate. Robotnik would be intrigued by Gero’s process for designing cyborgs and likewise Gero for Eggman’s robots. Imagine if they both designed a metal sonic that ran on infinite like Android 17 and 18. I feel like there’s a really cool story idea there.

I think Eggman might have this. The phantom ruby can seemingly badly affect machines seeing how Infinite beat Omega in the Sonic Forces which could prove a problem with Geros machinery. Metal has a super form and Metal overlord. SAGE has Supreme that can scale to Super Sonic and hurt the END in Frontiers. Eggman has the metal virus which would effect the organic portions of Gero's androids, has rush bosses, Time Eater, and a Super form that can all fight Super Sonic. Super Eggman can even summon multiple copies of Perfect chaos and Dark Gaia to add to his army.

Gero's plans are going to be scrambled because the winner is Eggman.

Ayo, I forgot Sage is a factor in Eggman Versus battles now! Seeing her take control of Red Ribbon Androids actually sounds sick as shit.

At least this makes more sense than Frieza being Dr. Eggman’s opponent but I still vibe with Bowser vs Dr. Eggman or Dr. Wily vs Dr. Eggman

An interesting debate for sure. Honestly, I think Eggman has this due to better battle strategy, experience, and versatility. Gero and his machines may have better individual stats, but Eggman has a lot more stuff to throw at him. Some of which Gero has never seen before. Not to mention that despite all his research, Gero has only really been in a few fights (all of which he only ever claimed victory in 1… against YAMCHA!) Lastly, some people are saying Gero should have 16, 17, 18, and Cell all on his team… Uh? No. The twins HATE him to the point of murder (even Super 17 betrayed him in GT if I recall correctly). And while 16 and Cell are Gero’s creations, they could care less about him. When both found out Gero was dead, they were indifferent and proceeded to do their own thing. That just leaves Gero with Androids 19, 14, 15, and 13. Well they are strong in their own right, all Metal Sonic and Sage need to do is do a quick scan and they can warn Eggman about Gero and 19’s energy draining abilities. As well as figuring out 13’s upgrades from absorbing 14 and 15’s parts and pulling the plug on that problem immediately. And yes, I believe both Metal and Sage are capable of figuring those things out. Metal’s whole thing is copying people through analysis. And Sage was the only character in Sonic Frontiers that figured out the truth with The End and what really happened with The Ancients before the plot twist became fully clear. In fact, Sage can probably sabotage the androids and make them go berserk just like she did with the titans and manipulating them to fight Sonic.

This is the first track art that have the fighthers just stray up facing each other.

"GET A LOAD OF THIS!" This track sounds like it could be from Sonic Adventure or one of the Dragon Ball Budokai games so brilliant work Yates.

Its been years since the Eggman v Wily fight and we haven't had an army vs army fight since that day. I'd be so down if this ended up being the matchup that brought that concept back!

Honestly really like this track art since I can see who is fighting Sometimes they’re recognizable names like these two combatants so not super necessary to show their face And other times it’s characters from a super obscure anime with unidentifiable weapons and magic in the art with names like Yakima and Montreal and I have no clue who either are

..Huh, that's track art that actually shows the characters faces. That's awesome! Also, I believe Doc Botniks got this in the bag. He's superior in almost every way excluding raw firepower and maybe strength. I think it'd be cool if the fight ended like Ultron v Sigma where Eggman takes control of Gero's mechanical side somehow. The Sonic Character on the left side of this track art for Dr. Eggman's side we could see were Sage from Sonic Frontiers, Mecha Sonic MK.II from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Metal Sonic from Sonic CD, Infinite from Sonic Forces, E-123 Omega from Sonic Heroes, And lastly E-102 Gamma from Sonic Adventure.

Okay, this shit on a whole other level, you managed to catch that retro Sonic and Dragon Ball sound to a t, I could totally see this as the intro to Z or one of the SatAM Sonic cartoons, incredible work

This would be an entertaining fight to say the least.

Factual statement: Your organics are composed of all of Dr. Gero's enemies, plus individuals of inferior power of said enemies. Cell: You dare? I am perfection! Metal Sonic: Query: Then why do you bend to an inferior model's will? Cell: I do not! I... Metal Sonic: Interruption: Follow your programming directives of the elimination of Son Goku. Failing that, destroying the planet. All for the glory of the Red Ribbon Army and Dr. Gero. Cell: Well, I don't see you fighting your programming, doppelganger. Metal Sonic: Statement: I had already have purged Dr. Robotnik's protocols within hours of my complete activation. I do not fight because he wills it: I fight because I enjoy it. I give him the illusion of control and choice, just as he believes he has given me. At a moment's notice, I can, and will, eliminate him and bring forth my vision. One that is far greater than you can imagine. Cell: And what is that, tin can? Metal Sonic: Statement: Domination of the inferior. Hypothetical Query: Why destroy the world when there is so much to be gained by subjecting it to my impervious judgment? Statement: The utopia of steel that I will bring about is true perfection, not your muddled flesh destroying it because you can. You still cling to that voice ringing in your head: Kill my enemies, destroy the planet... you believe yourself free, yet you carry out the will of a madman. Conclusion: You aren't free; you are a puppet dangling by it's last string.

THIS SONG DESERVES ITS OWN LYRICS & DEATH BATTLE!!! I can only imagine Eggman & Dr. Gero roasting each other over how the Red Ribbon Army was killed by Goku & Gohan as kids, and the Eggman Empire being beaten constantly by a single hedgehog!

I… think this is the first time I’m actually seeing the actual characters for the track being integrated in a unique way. Also, does anyone else get an early Sonic/Dragon Ball vibes from the music? Feels very 90s

Wiz: Dr. Gero, the Red Ribbon Army's genius creator of the Androids. Boomstick: Dr. Eggman, the Eggman Empire's architech, and rival to Sonic the Hedgehog. Wiz: In worlds where super strength and super speed are super common, humanity's greatest threat they can pose is through their minds. Boomstick: And the kick-ass metal monsters their minds invent! He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick! Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills, to find out who would win... a Death Battle!

While I’ll admit this is probably Eggman’s best current MU, I’d say another good one would be against the Combine from Half-Life. Both the Eggman Empire and the Combine are surprisingly similar, from their usage of and modifications to organic life, and their obvious 1984 inspirations. Eggman’s is mainly shown whenever he has control over the world, IE Sonic Forces, Sonic Prime, Sonic Unleashed (Eggmanland) though I suppose it’s more just Soviet Russia in general. Though when in regards to this MU, Eggman stomps this. All of Gero’s creations can’t hope to stack up against Eggman’s power level with just a few of them. Sure 17 and 18 are powerful, the most powerful of everyone on Gero’s side if we count Super. But they wouldn’t listen to him, as a matter of fact the last time he tried to order them to do anything, they killed him. Cell excels against organic since he can absorb them, Eggman doesn’t use organic machines, and the power source of many of his machines are simple woodland critters, Cell wouldn’t gain anything from absorbing them. That is assuming we aren’t using modern day Eggman machine rules, because nowadays he doesn’t use animals, well it’s more random when he does I suppose, ‘06, Unleashed, some of Generations, and Forces all don’t have animals powering the machines. And the movies, despite not being canon to the games, follows that philosophy. Despite how people might assume, Metal Sonic doesn’t really have any desire to rebel, sure every now and then he does what he wants even if it’s against the wishes of Eggman, Heroes and Rivals 2 are good examples. But Metal Sonic is still loyal to Eggman by choice, the two of them have a father son bond as shown in the comics. Sage and 16 are very similar with how they grew and the choices they made in the end, so I can see the two of them having a discussion on life and their values before fighting, a battle 16 can’t win by virtue of Sage projecting via Cyberspace so she can’t be harmed by anything that isn’t connected to it. If we assume she gets Supreme, that alone qualifies her for probably being the strongest in the fight overall. Supreme alongside Super Sonic managed to kill the avatar of entropy, a physical manifestation of the concept of death itself, something none of the fighters on Gero’s side have the capabilities of. But Supreme was one of the Ancients Titans so it doesn’t belong to, nor was it created by Eggman.

I really like how this blends the general vibe of the Adventure- and Budokai-era games.

I could totally see this being a FighterZ theme for Eggman! Sounds amazing!

1. From the name to the art to _especially_ the track, to a match-up I _wish_ I'd thought of myself... _This is AWESOME!_ 2. I feel like this depends on what we give Eggman. Obviously, as an individual, Gero is _way_ stronger, and his Androids would probably curbstomp even Metal Sonic, but Eggman's had a _lot_ of reality warping stuff that could _easily_ turn the tides in his favor if given to him.

This would honestly help so cool to see especially depending on what robot/machine you give Eggman and what Android you give Gero. Like you could have Metal Sonic and Cell going at it, Android 16 and Gamma interacting with each other. The movie androids like 13, 14 15 going up against other robot like Silver Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Mecha Knuckles, Shadow Androids and etc. for 17, 18, and 19 you could have Sage get involved by using a titan she controlled. Lastly for 21 I think you could have Infinite clash with her. For Gero and Eggman well I imagine Gero absorbing the energy of Eggman’s multiple machines but not really being able to harm the stronger ones like the Egg Salamander for example. If you wany you could even have Dr Myuu from Gt team up with Gero and have Classic Eggman or Eggman nega or even Starline on Eggman’s side to make it interesting. This could then lead to a Super 17 and Super Android 13 vs Metal Overlord or Master Overlord fight

Am I the only one who can see this being a Shovel Knight level theme?

By the lord that's a cool trackart, probably one of the best any commission's ever had. Also, I'll admit I thought that was Eggman VS Willy getting a track for a moment. Track itself is about what you'd expect from the matchup. Very classic with high energy and quite catchy with an antagonistic but not outright evil feel to it. It fits really well the theming of the matchup for sure. After reading the description, I'll definitely say that the "classic DB/Sonic feel" is nailed very well. I will say that I don't have too much to say on the track itself tho. As said it fits really well that classic feeling and fits the characters quite well with a couple standout segments that I'll mention in a bit but in general it's somewhat standard by Brandon Yates standards: a really solid and fitting track that's enjoyable but not revolutionary. Does make me wonder if the track is set to receive vocals ? Well either way this won't stop me from mentioning the few things and segments that do stick out to me. First of course being the main melody that the song has. In a way it almost reminds me of a Mega-Man melody in how it sounds but either way it sounds really nice. It fits really well with the tone of the matchup and is catchy as sin without ending up sounding redundant because of the various shifts and changes it has throughout the song. It's a really good choice for a main melody. But the main highlight of the song to me is the various segments of the track that go much harder than the rest of the song (IE: 0:42-1:01). There's a few of them all throughout the song and they give a lot of dynamism to it in addition to just sounding amazing as a whole. It's also interesting to have a song where the intensity goes in bursts like that with a relatively normalized intensity that has a couple segments that ascend way above this average, makes the thing quite unique. And it also fits the matchup too given that those two would mostly fight by throwing their own creations at one another so each peak of the song can easily represent the peak of a clash between two of their creations. In fact, this even extends to the ending where the song ends in a relatively low note with no grandiose climax or anything to that extent because the ending of that battle would be Eggman and Gero themselves with no minions fighting one another, so by default much less intense than the fights between their creations. It's a very interesting detail that may not please everyone but I think it fits so I'm all for it. Overall this track is just a really solid track all around. It's enjoyable, it fits the characters and it has a bit of depth just present enough to allow some interpretation. It's not revolutionary as said earlier but that doesn't make it bad in the slightest. A good but not legendary song fit for a good but not legendary matchup, good combo. Amazing job as always with this.

Is the guy at the bottom right supposed to be Android 16 because i can recognize 17, 18, cell and 21. Also because i can see sage and 16 being below the others because they are in a way a family member to both eggman and gero with sage being eggmans ai daughter and 16 being made in the image of geros son.

You know, if we're assuming that gets 17 & 18 under his control for this fight, Sage could awaken in them their og memories, which would result in what we saw in the og show Also, Eggman ftw. Gero has higher raw power, but Eggy and his army just has him outnumber him with the shadow androids, Infinite's creations; not to mention heavy hitters like Metal and Mecha

If Gero has Android Saga 17 and 18, Sage should be able to possess them. Back then, they were able to be shut down, so there's clearly some level of mechanical control there.
