It's not the gi distributors position to finance their entire lives. They have chosen Jiu Jitsu and there is very little money that goes a long with it. Tackett and others with their exciting meta games are making big strides in increasing pay for athletes by inflating the number metric for capital gains which is viewership.

I totally get that these guys are masters of heel hook offense and defense, and I wouldn't want to fight either one of them. But I remember when jiu jitsu was beautiful and not just hunting for heel hooks. I'm just not a fan.

what a robbery lol. Couch's attacks were basically making sure Tacket's leg didn't escape + far from dangerous leg locks attemps, while Tacket actively passed guard multiple times and tried all sorts of attacks

Don't get that decision. Tackett had dominant position for a loooong time and had some very solid arm bar and kimura attempts. Apparently this is Foo-jitsu. Decisions like this is why modern no-gi is horrible and largely unwatchable.
