What an interesting video, it has always been my dream to visit the Valley of the Kings. Great tips about the tickets and wow, so cool to get video in some of the tombs. I loved this!!
I kinda hate it what kind of a money monopoly these archeology finds become... They SHOULD be as low cost as possible for all to see, archeology shouldnt be a thing to gather money with... Should be thing of joy and curiosity. But to charge 40$ to see some tombs... Yuk.
Did you see the chamber where they kept all the treasure I know they're all empty but no one showed the rooms that they used to be in in any of the tombs
What an incredible tour and experience. Makes me want to do it all myself asap! Again with the photography passes... Definitely seems worth it for this one thlugh! Can't believe well preserved/restored it all looks
Holy moly I thought it was USD at first! The photography pass seemed totally worth it. These views were so cool. I was here when I was 8 and I’m dying to go back! Thanks so much for sharing :)
Egypt has loooong been on my bucket list. The hieroglyph engravings on the walls are beautiful and so well-preserved! Oh man, I'd be in awe standing in there. It looked so empty inside. Were there many other visitors?
I plan on visiting there in a few months. How were you able to get the video and photo's of Tut Anh Khaman sp. Any tips you could give me would be great.
1st tip...we've got like 40 videos on Egypt..it's amazing. Start binging now :) In terms of your actual question...the answer is in your question. The word begins with t and ends with S. Are you from the united states?
@@DOUGandNIKI Yes, I'm, from the U.S. I got you, I was already thinking that's what i would do. Lol.. My main concern now is I don't know how much money to take because I don't want to be carrying around stacks of money. lol.
@@sydenisetaylor1657 Best Advice we were EVER given for this trip...came from one of our Dr's whos family was from Egypt and he traveled back a lot... Bring $200 in US Singles... They LOVE USA currency and while $1 doesn't seem like a lot to us, it's really meaningful to them. We just gave them out like water and it didn't cost us a lot and really improved a lot of locals days!
For me, that is something fun about going to a market--getting to negotiate. The walls' engravings are in really good shape for being so old. Cool that you can enter three tombs with the price of the ticket. We are often the last to leave a place we are visiting/exploring 😎
100 meter flat stairs... That is annoying to walk on. But such a great tour and interesting. Thank you for taking me around the valley of the Kings. Do you have to take the train btw? Or can you walk inside as well to every place?
Funny to see your guide in a quilted hooded jacket in that heat! I imagine a few US$ in the right hands let you take photographs where otherwise it wasn't allowed. An interesting video for sure!
Really informative video.. you are right we didn’t watch this place in any of the videos regarding Egypt.. You guys are really knowledgeable and know which informations we might need to go there.. loved the way you captured the video of the man describing the map and let us know from him.. most of the vloggers don’t let the guides speak and gives incomplete informations as they just convey what they heard and miss some parts while telling on camera..
Thanks. We try to know a lot about stuff we see but we are far from experts so it makes sense to let the experts share the important information. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much. 250 EGP to enter valley of the kings plus 3 tombs, ,250 EGP to enter King Tuts Tomb and its an extra 300 EGP for a photo pass. These are all per person. There are currency exchange places around Luxor to change us. If you'd like more info send is a DM on Instagram. DOUGandNIKIinsta
We (N J and Eric) along with a 3rd friend will be visiting Egypt in early March 2020 We are hoping the GEM will be open by then, but there is no certainty, what have you heard? Our tour will take us thru the city of Cairo in a luxury van then on to Saqqara and Memphis. We will follow with a flight to Aswan-Luxor-Edfu via the Nile aboard the Royal Lily So thank you for the complete video of the ship. As well as a felucca, horse and buggy On our return to Cairo we will be doing a night tour of downtown followed the next day visiting all the spots we missed such as the tower, The Bazar, the churches and synagogue, the park across the road from the cidadel closing with sound and light show and dinner before we prepare to leave the next early morning. This was a package deal watch for our videos on my face book page. To get to my face book page click on my picture and name mid march 2020. If you guys have anything to share to help us along we'd appreciate it. Oh before I forget how did you get special permission to take videos of the tomb inside of TUT. as well as the allowances on board the Royal Lily. Wonderful vids and thank you for sharing just incase here is my facebook page N JAY HOLTZ
Beautiful beyond words!! Question - at any point did you ever feel "overwhelmed"?? Like ...am I really standing here, or omg I'm really visiting sacred places? I think I would have been boo-hooing the entire time or either fainted! ☺ Do you guys think you'll ever visit Jerusalem, Christ Tomb, Mt of Olives etc etc. Now that's where I would really loose it !! apologize if you have already been (and I missed the video). Thxs & enjoy!!!
Thanks as always for your continued support and attention. The whole thing was super overwhelming but exciting at the same time. As you may have seen..we were at Machu Picchu last year and it was a little weird as that is like 500 years old and seem ancient and amazing and then you get to Egypt and now you are looking at things that are 7000 years old making Machu Picchu just a baby. Israel is way up on our to do list!
DOUG and NIKI - awesome ! I'm living vicariously through you guys. I don't for see any major trips (like Israel, Egypt or Africa) in the near future, but if you go to the Holy Land, or Africa can you give me a small shutout? - it's the closet I'll ever get. ☺💕 Be safe coming home!!
@@TravellerWithPlan I am sure we gave them way more than what was necessary, honestly they are thrilled to get any support. Use you best judgement and it will work fine. Literally...a couple of bucks. Some great advice we got...we went on the trip with $100 in US singles for tipping everyone and they were thrilled.
@@DOUGandNIKI thanks for the info.. Yes i believe like 20Le 1us is enough for tipping depend on the service that they will provide.. Enjoy whatever trip is coming next.. And i hope you good luck on the channel 😊
Got to our "About" tab and you will find a direct email for us. Shoot us a quick email with the question and we'll send you the contact info. You are going to love the trip.
wow...what's with having to have so many tickets purchased separately instead of just having a combo ticket to makes things simple? They even have folks pay to take pictures...but I reckon folks with their phones could have captured images and videos without paying extra right?
I think it's pretty crappy to monetize by charging to take pics but it is what it is. They are VERY aggressive about monitoring it. There is no sneaking a cell phone pic here and there.
@@DOUGandNIKI I,m from Liverpool, its our mad sense of humour, Although, I really want to go to Egypt. I am not fussy on the Tours, just looking across at the life going on near the Nile. Looks as if it would take you back years?
@@dart811gdl Thanks again. It is really hard! The hours of work that goes into one of these videos is a little crazy! Sometimes even after all that love they still aren't great. We're proud of this one!
Hi Niki & Doug, i watched lots of egypt tours in youtube, yours are the best. Well presented with lots of advice. Question regarding 300 egyptian pounds ticket to take pictures, do you have to get two tickets, one for each of you? I saw you have 2 tickets of 300 each in your hands. Thanks
Thanks so much...that really means a lot. Most places one of the two of us paid for the camera but in Valley of the Kings it was so special that we both paid. They are pretty strict about policing the camera fees.
DOUG and NIKI I did plan on going this year but will have to see with all this COVID craziness going on everywhere and unfortunately Egypt is getting a little worse right now. Hopefully when this whole thing blows over. And I would love to do the same in Seti! Donating some money to get a glimpse and be able to shoot would be totally worth it. Plus you are definitely helping out the staff and the whole place with maintenance.
@@charliebo1039 Great to hear you are looking into traveling. We have tons of Egypt videos on our channel. If you get a chance..share any videos you like on social media or blogs, it's a big thing for us. Where are you? How is COVID there?
