Let me know what you think and also let me know how we can improve UE5 for designers to be more comfortable! Also thank you to todays Sponsor Ankbit E600Pro Active Noise Cancelling Headphone 1mii.shop/collections/headphones/products/e600pro-active-noise-cancelling-headphone
Is there an ability to include data from Google sheets? Live network connection? Or even make your own interface for the web, for editors to just change video and data?
@@rekad8181 I'm not sure about the web stuff but you can put like excel sheet data in there. I didn't want to make the video super long but I do have an example of an election style graphic running the poll results in real-time
Hey WINBUSH .. Whatup whatup .. thanks again for everything you do .. and thanks for this amazing video about project avalanche .. but I'm trying to understand something hopefully you clear it up for me .. and that is "Are project avalanche and UEFN are unreal projects or are they unreal versions ?" i really can't get it into my head .. Thanks in advance Cheers
An easy to set up (blueprinted?) particle system that renders the same exact result each time we render, so we can rely on where specific particles are in the editor viewport, because they will also be there in the final render.
This is going to be such a huge point of entry for motion designers that have been curious but on the fence up until now. So stoked that you're leading the conversation for the community!
As a user of After Effects and Cinema 4D, I'm very excited to be able to replace those two with just one focused on motion design with real-time rendering. It's ridiculous that Adobe only implements 3D in AE now after 20 years on the market and still delivers so little that Element 3D, even without an update in over 10 years, manages to be better. And Maxon, which is still sleeping on real-time rendering. It could have advanced with Redshift RT, delivering quality real-time rendering without having to leave C4D, but RT seems to be stuck in time without significant updates. So congratulations Epic Games, you're going to change the motion design game and I'm going to be a part of it.
Imagine C4D with an EEVEE equivalent, with RTX (DXR - it already uses DirectX), with simple to use 2D motion design capabilities, with layers (better motion clips)... Because while it's cool that Avalanche has easy to use mograph tools, that's still a small percentage of what C4D can do. And I mean you can make an entire AAA game in UE5, so I bet with some C++ knowledge or some cash you can have much, MUCH more than just a couple effectors. I am not even going to bother explaining all the ways in which AE sucks. You know that, I know that, everyone knows that. Both Maxon and Adobe need some competition to kick them in the NUTS.
Never been a better time to learn Ue, need a better reason!?! Nice one Winbush, so happy you are helping give input on the design on this tool! No one better to showcase new workflows!!
dude in 5 years man, unreal is gonna make quite a few programs obsolete or make them look like clowns. unreals development team is the most fierce development ive seen ever in the 3d space. they are putting out new versions every six months, they are charging us nothing to use it. they got out of the box solutions. this stuff is insane
omg I'm just hearing about this for the first time & I'm so excited to use it! I'm addicted to the instant render times of UE and I always hate jumping over to AE.
Not an unreal user yet but as a motion designer, this is really making me consider giving it a shot. The cloners feature as well as the 2D/3D mix looks pretty powerful, especially because it's all real time!
This is insane, as a Tv Graphics engineer i am really interested on using unreal engine as a replacement for Vizrt since it has a more permissive license and 3d performance is just plain better.
I am most excited about what will be created by the community when this tool is launched. The community is always what makes any program/software shine. So looking forward to this.
I remember a time when we all had to learn vray and test renders , perfect render settings , praying to god that no flickering happens , seems like those days are long gone.
Yea buddy I've been doing this since the early 2000s I'm definitely right there with you lol I feel old but I remember when it was all only CPU rendering
Very exciting stuff. What I hope the Avalanche team will be working on, is the "low practicality" of the timeline. Like easy shortcut Zoom in and out of the timeline, ripple, cut the start and beginning of a layer easy with shortcuts, etc. Thank you for keeping us up to date Winbush.
This is just amazing !! I've been waiting for ages for such a feature to come to Unreal so that I won't need to keep changing software while doing motion graphics! A feature that I would love to be added to Project Avalanche is the Fracture function, where we can do something like the Transform effect for the parts of any mesh we have, such a feature will be a huuuge addition to the toolset, keep up the good work guys, can't wait to put my hands on it!!
this is a game changer! i used to do alot of c4d text render out and composite them into different things for banners and such and to be able to do this all in unreal will be epic
I’m glad they seem to be taking time to make it right. A lot of software gets rushed out, such as for example the iPad versions of Adobe products which have been missing some basic stuff.
To be honest, as an educator, Maxon have been messing me around so much with my educational licence that I'll be glad to get rid of C4D and shift completely to UE5. I mean, this just looks amazing as a replacement, so powerful. The fact that this is all real time too. Bonkers. Can't wait to start experimenting with it.
@@JonathanWinbush Long story Jonathan. They did fix it but then they started to disable tutor accounts ( seen a few on reddit like mine ) saying there was discrepancies with student status ( I'm not a student, I teach this stuff to live gig production students. ) I sent them everything they asked for for the UNI I work at and they still wouldn't budge. They were talking to me like I was trying to rip them off for a licence, even saying they were passing this up to their legal department. I mean, really!? I've put so many students onto C4D over the years too. So to be honest, I'm just not going to teach C4D to my students any more, I'll teach them UE5 instead ( it's going that way anyway. ) UE have a superb educational model too. Seems like Maxon really don't want people to learn their software, not my issues any more. ;)
Thanks for your UE5 tutorials. I just got my first RTX-4090 laptop and I'm getting ready to start your beginner Unreal Engine course.🤗 btw, *what is that hand gesture* you do @ the end? It kind'a looks like a tea cup, lol
Wow, this is amazing. Thank you for this clarification. This topic was about plugins before and I was working on it, but now it has become something amazing
When is it coming? Are they also working on a ChatGPT help system with all the documentation, forums, training video transcripts etc.. that would help so much!
I'm not really sure about the ChatGPT side of it I think I saw people using it to create blueprints but as for when is it coming all I can say is sooner than later 🤙🏿
This is fantastic, would you be able to have track mattes like in After Effects. I did try my hand at UE using your tutorials but I was never comfortable with the UI, this is exactly what we need to take advantage of Unreal engine. Well done to the people behind this.
Thanks for showing the tool to us ! That layer system is so nice. And for now UE was very bad at handling 2D, this could change so many things ! Hopefully they will keep it simple as for now Unreal is sometimes too much to make like a simple 10s loop (long to load, shader baking, etc...)
wow!!!!! unreal is becoming the all in one media app for every discipline and evolving so fast. I have so much respect for their business model which i feel is the main reason why it evolves so much faster than apps that use subscription based business models. The quick dollar flow is purely for prophet and not a community based system.
I'm so happy, gimp/krita and inkscape, along with blender and unreal, and we Finally have tools that are better and will soon become industry standard! I'm tired of low Res renders, crashes, and spending $50 a month on a monopoly that don't care or listen to us.
well well....absolutely great! been following that on UE fest too! I hope we are going to see an in depth video course (maybe on school of motion or whatever😏) made by the sole and only Winbush at some point 🙏🙏🙏🤩
Thank you for the heads-up Winbush! Whatup, whatup! I've been messing around in Unreal since the first announcement of Project Avalanche, and I have to say tour videos/tutorials were of great help! Thank you for that! Regarding what I'd like to see developed in this are the usual animation suspects, like moveable/keyframable anchor points, parenting, some kind of precomping, and keyframable "hand-made" deformations of geometry/shapes/elements. Something to make squash and stretch possible. Also, video support, and at least After Effects level of audio editing/tools. I'm blown away by UEs capabilities, but have issue with using blueprint/programming for any kind of work that and DCC package has by default. I have a problem with learning programming logic, even blueprint makes no sense to me :-) Oh, and keyframable opacity! That is a big one 🙂 Anyway, thank you for everything you do for the community! Looking forward to next videos!
Yup Im not much of a programmer either just really simple stuff but the guy heading the development is a former c4d motion artist himself so he gets it 100%
I only use UE5 for Machina fractals, but this looks super fun to use and play with. I'm not a motion graphics designer. But I may give this a try! Looks reasonably easy to use.
!!! Brilliant video !!! Bravo for thé sharp waaaaduup waaaadduuup good vibes and inspirational way to share the informations. I have been trying unreal here and there and must admit the power and possibilities are incredible ! But the interface is like a multiverse made of so many portals to so many coders friendly tools ;)). What I see in your description really made my eyes popped out of my head !!! Hahahaha hurrah for an artist friendly interface !! Personally I would be doing more cinematic kind of video than pure typography motion stuff : so developer of the avalanche project : please invite us into your welcoming world : adding possibilities to have the new scattering tools, vdb import, some simple physic sim, and … why not something specific to character animation ;)). Well you get it continue your wonderful work of making accessible the interface ;) cheers ! And thank you!
It's really insane and I think will really push motion graphics in a big way. I can't speak on when it's going to have a public beta but I can say sooner than later 🤙🏿
This is really exciting Winbush! Thanks for sharing this with us... QUESTION: If/when they start charging for UE5... any ideas on how much it'll be? Even if they're just guesses? Thx!
I’ve seen it a couple of years ago. Very interesting. Imagine we will have HDAs from Houdini Engine here to make procedural real-time shots? What about particles and blueprints? Do they somehow integrated? I wonder whether it’s a fork of UE or somehow a workspace inside of UE5 with everything else being minimized but still available? Thanks Winbush!
huge thanks for the update, I am curious about how this project avalanche will fit in live production and broadcasts. it would be great if you make a video about it. after all live events are going to have the most benefit from real-time motion graphic
Absolutely I know places like ESPN and Fox have been using it for live broadcast sometimes like the rosebowl parade stuff I showed in the video but you're right I think this really helps with live concert visuals and sporting events etc...
WOA!! That is BIG!! thanks Winbush for that in depth Video! Can´t wait to get my Hands on this! We do a lot stuff like this in Production and this will close a Gap in between different apps so i am super excited!! - Whatup Whatup my Man :D
I don't do motion graphics, but that sure in hell captured my interest. Looks to be a very cool tool. The SVG stuff looks really good. I can see some potiental uses for Project Avalanche myself. Good stuff!
Will you have tutorials on how to make the SVG into 3D logos? I've been playing with the Beta on and off for the pass week and haven't figured it out yet.
@@JonathanWinbush this Project Avalanche will be my new replacement once its out. I canceled my sub last month for Adobe Creative Cloud. More of a hobbyist here but have been learning Davinci Resolve ✌
Are those tools available for game developers as well? I see a lot of great potential in designing these sequences and playing them directly in the engine
This is wildly impressive. I'm a motion designer for the last 25 years primarily using C4D and AE. What is the best way to jump into UE5 from scratch aside from random RU-vid videos? Are there any good comprehensive courses on UE5 that are geared specifically for motion designers coming from C4D and AE? I'd like to get on this train.
Given how there's been utterly no word on UEFN getting better UI tools despite how important these are to every type of game, there's a few things in this demo which suggests Avalance will come to both UE5 and UEFN quite soon. The Fortnite assets alone are one clue but we also know there's a big collab between Fortnite and Lego that's been in development all year and right there in that demo are some examples of Lego motion graphics.
this looks great! In any case you can forward Feedback: Please ask them if they can include a UV RenderPass. I would need that so I can replace some images and videos in post in AfterEffects. And hopefully it has an easier method to introduce video assets in unreal as I find the current workflow with the media texture etc. a bit cumbersome. Thanks for your efforts @winbush!
My mind is freaking blown. This is AMAZING! I cannot wait to get access to this and play around. I hope there's a way to apply coding to the animations, like you can in AE with Expressions. The blueprint system would be perfect for that. I use a ton of little expressions to automate my animations and build modular systems in AE. If we could have something like that in this, then I could finally leave AE in the dust.
@@JonathanWinbush thank you for your reply. But we do need ae in many cases. It's an important part of our workflow. Btw, what's your estimate about when we will be able to join the beta? Thanks again.
I honestly can't speak on that I mean as I have it now it's integrated but not sure what the payment structure will look like in UE5 as a whole next year they never really said after UEFest just they are working on something fair for everyone
